Chapter 77 Persona Ruined
Everyone was stunned speechless.
Michelle kneeling earlier is weird enough-but now Clara, the campus belle, is kneeling to Margaret too?
What in the world is going on?
The cafeteria erupted into total chaos, with whispers flying everywhere.
“Did I just see that right? Why is Clara kneeling to Margaret out of nowhere?”
“Yeah! That’s a perfect pose!”
“Aren’t noble ladies like them supposed to care about their pride? Kneeling to someone else? So embarrassing! Haha!”
“Totally embarrassing! I can’t stop laughing!”
The jeers from the crowd felt like slaps landing one after another on Clara’s face. Her usually gentle, pretty features turned deathly pale.
It’s over! I’ll end up a laughingstock in Capaville’s elite circle, just like Michelle!
She wanted to die. All the years she’d spent building her “refined lady” image, her good reputation in the circle-gone, just like that!
Rickie, sitting next to Margaret, leaned over curiously. “Boss, why is Clara’kneeling to you for no reason?”
Margaret’s expression was calm. Her red lips parted, her tone casual. “What else? She must’ve done something guilty to me and now wants to apologize by kneeling.”
Clara’s pale face twisted with rage at her words. She screamed at Margaret, “Margaret! Bullshit! You did this! You made me kneel!”
She glared at Margaret with such venom; it looked like she wanted to tear her apart. It has to be Margaret’s trick!
Clara’s usual “gentle and elegant” mask shattered completely.
Faced with her accusations, Margaret remained unfazed. Her voice was cold. “Don’t frame me. You knelt on your own. It’s not like I held your shoulders down. Everyone here saw it clearly.”
She put on an innocent look.
Onlookers seethed with anger. Even if you’re the campus belle, you can’t slander such a beautiful girl like this!
“Exactly! Clara’s so mean! She knelt by herself-how dare she frame Margaret!”
“We all saw it! She knelt on her own! Now she’s trying to pin it on Margaret-disgusting!”
“Someone like her doesn’t deserve to be campus belle! She’s nothing compared to Margaret!”

“Totally! Margaret’s way prettier than Clara!”
Thanks to Clara’s overbearing fan club, most girls at school had long resented her.
They’d just never dared to speak up-until now. Insults and jeers rained down on Clara like bullets.
Clara’s face turned even paler. Her body trembled with fury.
These damned bitches! How dare they talk about me like that!
Margaret ignored Michelle and Clara completely, like they weren’t even there. “Rickie, tell the waiter we’re ready to order.”
“Yes, Boss.” Rickie hurried off to order.
“Clara! Michelle! Stand up! This is so embarrassing!” Their classmates shifted awkwardly; they felt humiliated just by being around them.
“I… I can’t stand up!” Clara sobbed-this time, for real.
“Impossible! If you like kneeling that much, we’ll leave first. We have homework.” With that, their classmates deserted them.
Now, Clara and Michelle kneeling alone were even more conspicuous.
“Margaret! You witch! What did you do to me? Let me go!” Clara shrieked. She must know some dark magic!
Margaret frowned, growing annoyed. “Where’s that barking coming from? So annoying.”
Suddenly, Clara’s voice cut off. It felt like someone had clamped a hand over her throat-she couldn’t make a sound.
Soon, the waiter brought their food.
Margaret and her classmates ate calmly, ignoring the two kneeling girls.
Michelle and Clara knelt there, enduring the pointing fingers and mocking stares of everyone in the
cafeteria.
The cafeteria was the busiest place in school-nearly half the school saw them kneeling.
Some students even filmed the whole thing, posting photos and videos online-on the school forum and social media,
Clara and Michelle had been preparing for a career in the entertainment industry since they were kids.
A talent agency had been grooming them, paying for spots on popular variety shows to build their “kind, wealthy heiress” personas.
