“Teaching students isn’t a trivial matter at all. I just don’t want to take up your time if you have higher–priority responsibilities.” Arabella voiced her concern.
Seeing that Arabella was worried about disrupting his schedule, Lucas‘ lips curved into a smile. “Who says teaching trainees is trivial? I consider it quite important.
“Especially a trainee as naturally gifted as you, Ms. Hamilton. In all my time here, I’ve never come across anyone quite like you.
“For students with real talent and potential, I believe it’s more fitting for an experienced, top- tier instructor like myself to guide them. That’s the only way to truly hone abilities like yours.” Lucas not only complimented Arabella’s aptitude but also firmly stated his suitability as her instructor.
Hearing his flattering yet smooth words, Arabella couldn’t help but smile slightly.
He certainly knew how to talk. He was definitely more engaging than Kyle.
Lucas noticed the smile on her face and knew his praise had landed well.
It seemed becoming her instructor shouldn’t be an issue. He’d just need to have a word with Kyle later to finalize it.
Ever since he’d driven Arabella to the hospital and had that brief conversation, Lucas had found himself unconsciously drawn to the effortless poise she carried.
The reason he’d been near the stairs today was precisely because he hadn’t seen her around. He’d been wandering the academy halls, half–hoping to run into her.
As they talked, they entered one of the advanced theory rooms.
Looking at her, Lucas made casual conversation. “What do you usually enjoy doing in your free time?”
Arabella answered instinctively, “Painting, and some crafts.”
She said it lightly, but her paintings and crafts were far from ordinary. Whenever they appeared on the market, they were quickly snapped up by collectors.
“What a coincidence. I enjoy those too. If there’s chance, we could go out to the countryside sometime for some plein air painting,” Lucas sa, his eyes brightening.
He never imagined they’d share similar hobbies

“Perhaps. But shouldn’t we begin the lesson?” Arabella gently reminded him.
Prompted by her, Lucas remembered his primary role. A somewhat abashed smile appeared on his face. “Sorry, I got so caught up chatting I forgot the main event.”
“Let’s pick up from where we left off last time,” Lucas said, turning his focus to the training materials.
“Okay.”
Meanwhile, Naomi and Ruby had finished their simulator session.
“Naomi, let’s go find that hunk you mentioned,” Ruby said, nudging Naomi.
“Alright, but let me be clear–you’re the one who wants to go see him. I’m just keeping you company,” Naomi felt the need to clarify. She didn’t want any potential misunderstanding, especially where Matthew was concerned.
Ruby shot her a knowing look. “Okay, okay. I know your heart belongs to Matthew. The hottest guy in the world couldn’t make you look twice.
“Your heart is his and his alone. Happy now?”
“You’re impossible, Ruby!” Naomi’s secret was laid bare, and she blushed, giving Ruby a light shove.
Seeing Naomi blush, Ruby knew she’d hit the mark. She then linked arms with her cousin. “Enough teasing. Now hurry up and take me there.”
“Alright, let’s go,” Naomi said, smoothing her expression.
“I remember seeing him in Kyle’s office that day Let’s try there first,” Naomi suggested.
“Sure, you lead. As long as I get to see this legendary hunk,” Ruby said with an expectant grin.
“You’re really good at just going along for the ride. Follow me.” Naomi then led Ruby toward Kyle’s office.
Soon, they arrived. Pushing the door open, Naohi scanned the room but didn’t see Lucas.
“Naomi, which one is the hunk?” Ruby whispered, looking over the people inside.
“None of them. He’s not here. Let’s check somewhere else,” Naomi said, leading Ruby back
out.
Naomi took Ruby to several likely spots, but still no sign of Lucas.

Ruby was starting to lose hope. “Naomi, we’ve looked everywhere. Maybe he didn’t come in today?”
Ruby’s words gave Naomi an idea. She looked around and spotted someone in an instructor’s uniform. She walked over. “Excuse me, I’m a student here. Has Lucas come in today?”
“Yes, he has. What do you need?”
“We have a session with him. Do you know where he might be right now?” Naomi fabricated
an excuse.
“Oh, when I came down earlier, I think I saw him conducting a lesson in one of the ground school classrooms. Might be your session. You should hurry,” the instructor said.
“Okay, thank you.” Naomi finally had a lead.
“Naomi, what did he say?” Ruby asked as Naomi walked back.
“He said Lucas is teaching someone in a ground school room. Let’s head there.”
Hearing they had a location, Ruby’s energy instantly returned. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at Naomi. “Perfect, let’s go!”
Back in the classroom, Lucas had swapped his usual serious, focused teaching demeanor for a more relaxed, humorous style as he explained the concepts to Arabella.

I started the novel with great interest. In the beginning the storyline was captivating. Then I feel that the more the story advances, the twists were no longer great. Moreover I don't like Arabella s personality, cold, distant......
