“Oh, we didn’t just bump into it by accident–Mr. Stewart deliberately directed his driver to intercept that vehicle…” Before Andy could finish, Matthew’s cool voice cut in. “Do you have too much time on your hands?”
Andy jolted and immediately changed tack. “No. I’ll go check right now to see what happened with the driver.”
With that, Andy quickly headed toward the overturned delivery truck.
Although Andy didn’t finish his sentence, Arabella had already grasped the unspoken meaning.
So Matthew had just saved her life!
“Mr. Stewart, you…” Arabella looked at Matthew, her expression a mix of confusion and disbelief. Why would he do that?
Hadn’t he even considered the danger to himself?
Matthew got out of the car, gave Arabella a quick once–over, and said, “My car needs to be towed for repairs. You can drive me to the office.”
“Oh, right. Of course,” Arabella agreed immediately.
Soon, the two were seated in Arabella’s car.
“Mr. Stewart, are you sure you’re okay?” Arabella asked with concern, studying his profile.
Even though speeds at an intersection weren’t extreme, a collision was still a collision. There was always a risk of injury.
“I’m fine,” Matthew replied, his tone characteristically calm.
Arabella frowned, still uneasy. “No, I really should check you over.”
As she spoke, she reached over and placed her fingers lightly on Matthew’s wrist to check his pulse.
“It’s steady. You really do seem fine,” Arabella murmured, then carefully scanned his appearance. He seemed completely normal, with no visible signs of distress or injury.
“Good. It really looks like you’re okay.” Arabella sighed in relief and withdrew her hand.
Matthew looked down at his wrist, his eyes narrowing almost imperceptibly..
The brief, cool touch of her fingertips, fading away as she pulled back, left behind a strange, unexpected sense of absence.
“I’m glad you’re alright. Let’s head to Horizon Corp now,” Arabella said, starting the car and merging back into traffic.
“Thank you for what you did back there,” Arabella said, her voice sincere. If it weren’t for him, she’d probably be in an ambulance. right now,
“It was nothing. Just happened to be in the right place,” Matthew replied, turning his gaze to look out the passenger window.
Arabella raised an eyebrow slightly. “I never would have guessed you were the heroic, self–sacrificing type!”
Usually so aloof and detached, yet he hadn’t hesitated to put himself in harm’s way.

Chapter 366 Matthew Saves Arabella
Matthew gave Arabella a cool sidelong glance. “Don’t mistake me for a noble character.”
“Huh?” Arabella was puzzled. What did he mean?
“I saved you, so you owe me a favor. Don’t forget to repay it,” Matthew said, glancing at her with meaningful emphasis..
Arabella pressed her lips together but had to concede. “Fine. I owe you. I’ll repay it.”
“When do you plan to repay it, and how?” Matthew continued, pressing the point.
Arabella instantly felt as if a flock of crows had just cawed loudly over her head.
The wave of shock and profound gratitude she’d felt moments ago evaporated instantly.

Forcing herself to sound serious, she replied, “Since you’re in such a hurry to collect, Mr. Stewart, you can set the terms.”
A debt was a debt. She would repay it in full.
“Any request will do?” Matthew raised an eyebrow slightly, as if confirming.
Arabella nodded. “If it’s within my power, yes.”
“In that case…” Matthew paused, deliberately letting his gaze linger on her.
Arabella frowned and looked back at him, waiting for his demand.
Seeing her obvious frustration, yet forced compliance, a faint, almost imperceptible smile touched Matthew’s lips. “I haven’t decided yet. I’ll let you know when I think of something.”
With that, he leaned back comfortably in the passenger seat, his gaze fixed on the road ahead.
Arabella didn’t catch the subtle glint of amusement in his eyes.
Gritting her teeth inwardly, Arabella swallowed her irritation and calmly agreed. “Alright. You can come to me anytime.”
“Good,” Matthew said quietly,
The car pulled up to the curb. “Mr. Stewart, we’re here,” Arabella said.
Noticing she made no move to get out, Matthew asked, “Aren’t you coming up?”
“My job was to get you here safely, I’ll pass on going up,” Arabella declined, then added. “But I’ll cover the full cost of repairing your
car.”
After all, he’d wrecked it saving her. She couldn’t let him foot the bill.
“Forget the repairs. Someone else will be covering that cost,” Matthew said, glancing at her. “But don’t you want to know the details of what happened back there?”
“I’ll have someone look into it when I get home,” Arabella replied casually.
“You… will look into it?” Matthew looked at her, his gaze suddenly probing and sharp.
Arabella quickly corrected herself. “I meant I’ll have someone else look into it for me.”

Matthew added, “By now, Andy probably already has the answers. Do you really need to start a separate investigation?”
As if on cue, Andy returned, jogging up to the car window.

“Mr. Stewart, it’s clear now. The driver was-” Andy began his report, but Matthew cut him off. “We’ll discuss the details upstairs.”
Andy paused for a fraction of a second, then nodded. “Yes, sir.”
Matthew glanced once more at Arabella before turning and striding toward the entrance of the sleek corporate tower.
Arabella stood by her car, glaring at his retreating back. He was doing this on purpose.
Andy looked from his boss to Arabella, slightly bewildered. “Dr. Hamilton, shall we… go in?”
Taking a deep, steadying breath, Arabella tried to calm her simmering annoyance. “Fine. Let’s go.”

I started the novel with great interest. In the beginning the storyline was captivating. Then I feel that the more the story advances, the twists were no longer great. Moreover I don't like Arabella s personality, cold, distant......
