“That’s your business. You don’t need to report it to me.” Arabella couldn’t be bothered with the two of them any longer and turned to walk toward one of the aircraft on display.
Seeing that Arabella wasn’t going to pursue the matter further, Naomi helped a limping Ruby up, preparing to leave.
Lucas stepped in front of them, blocking their path. “I hope that slap today wasn’t a total waste. Maybe it’ll knock some sense into you.”
“Hmph, was I wrong? You can fool everyone else, but can you fool yourself?” Ruby sneered. “We’ll just see how your little story ends.”
With that, Ruby hobbled away, leaning heavily on Naomi for support.
Lucas stood frozen for a moment, his mind reéling. What had Ruby meant by that last comment?
“Mr. Jarvis, could you tell me a bit more about this aircraft’s avionics package?” Arabella’s voice carried over from a short distance away. Lucas followed the sound and looked over, his vacant eyes gradually regaining their focus.
Hank smiled, pleasantly surprised. “I didn’t expect you to be so interested in the technical details.”
“Well, since I’m here, I might as well learn something,” Arabella replied with a polite smile.
“Of course.” Hank agreed, feeling the tour had moved beyond mere formalities, so he continued his explanations with renewed. enthusiasm.
Matthew’s gaze lowered to rest on Arabella, who stood not far from him, and his eyes subtly softened.
This girl was truly one of a kind. At times, it was genuinely difficult to look away from her.
Noticing Matthew’s stare, Arabella turned to meet his eyes. The direct contact gave her a momentary pause.
“Is something wrong?” she asked him,
Matthew’s expression remained unreadable. “What you did earlier was very effective.”
“Huh?” Arabella didn’t understand at first. What had she done?
“If you’d prefer not to see her around in the future, I can arrange that,” Matthew added,
Arabella finally caught his meaning. She shook her head lightly and replied coolly, “That won’t be necessary. Besides, I should think she’s the one who won’t want to see me.”
She hadn’t done anything wrong, so why should she be the one to avoid a confrontation?
Matthew raised an eyebrow slightly, then allowed a faint smile. “True.”
He had assumed she might hold a grudge against Ruby, but it seemed she simply considered her beneath notice.
Well, with her temperament and capability, she was unlikely to come out on the losing end of anything, so it hardly mattered.
“Arabella, it’s getting late. We should head to the training session.” Lucas came over and gently touched Arabella’s arm to get her

For some reason, the atmosphere between Arabella and Matthew made him feel uneasy, and he just wanted to separate them.
“Alright.” Arabella also felt they had lingered long enough, and the main points of the tour had been covered.
“Mr. Jarvis, I think we’ve seen the key highlights. I’ll be skipping the rest of the group tour.” Arabella addressed Hank.
“Well…” Hank glanced nervously at Matthew, unsure how to respond.
Matthew frowned. “Are you in such a hurry?”
So eager to go off alone with Lucas?
“Yes.” Arabella nodded firmly. “I want to get my pilot’s license as soon as possible. My schedule is packed, so I need to manage my time efficiently.”
A flicker of amusement crossed Matthew’s features, and a playful glint entered his eyes. “Is your schedule really that busy?”
For a moment, Arabella felt as if she were walking into a verbal trap.
She adopted a suitably burdened expression. “Well, I’ve just taken over the company, and there’s a mountain of work. It’s a bit overwhelming, so I need to dedicate more focus to the business.”
Matthew was both amused and exasperated. Do you really expect me to buy that excuse?
Choosing to ignore Matthew’s skeptical look, Arabella turned back to Lucas. “Let’s go.”
“Since you’re so determined to run your company well, there’s a partnership meeting tomorrow. You should attend.” Matthew’s voice stopped her retreat.
Arabella looked back at him. “What kind of partnership?”
“Pharmaceutical research and development,” Matthew replied.
Arabella’s brow furrowed slightly. “In that case, Mr. Stewart, wouldn’t it be more appropriate for your team to come to my company?”
Since it was a pharma R&D discussion, the meeting location should logically be at her firm.
“Fine.” Matthew agreed almost instantly.
Arabella shot him a glance, feeling his agreement came a little too readily.
But she didn’t dwell on it and left with Lucas.
Watching her retreating figure, Matthew’s lips curved into a barely perceptible smile.
“Mr. Stewart, shall we continue with the tour?” Hank asked with a slight bow, his tone tentative.
“That won’t be necessary,” Matthew said lightly.
Hank immediately tensed, unsure of Matthew’s displeasure.

Matthew continued. “I’ve seen enough.”

Hearing this, Hank finally released a pent–up breath of relief. “I’m very glad to hear you’re satisfied, Mr. Stewart. With these new models and simulators, our training standards will reach a completely new level. We’ll attract not only top domestic students but also international candidates.”
“Mm,” Matthew responded with a noncommittal hum.
The place did have solid development potential, but his initial investment hadn’t been motivated by that alone.
“Mr. Stewart, would you care to rest in my office?” Hank offered.
Matthew glanced at him before stating, “The follow–up investment plan and specific procedures will be handled by Andy’s team.”
“Excellent, that’s wonderful news!” Hank was overjoyed. Finally, he had the backing to realize his long–held vision for the academy.
“Mr. Stewart, allow me to walk you out,” Hank said excitedly, not daring to neglect the benefactor standing before him.
Matthew strode off without another word, with Andy falling into step closely behind him.
Only after Matthew’s car had disappeared from view did the remaining students and staff dare to disperse, breaking into hushed, animated groups.
“That whole scene was way too intense.”
“I was so shocked I almost forgot to breathe.”
“Was that student completely unhinged? How could she talk about Lucas like that in public?”

I started the novel with great interest. In the beginning the storyline was captivating. Then I feel that the more the story advances, the twists were no longer great. Moreover I don't like Arabella s personality, cold, distant......
