Hearing that, Matthew felt his mood lift slightly. He nodded and said, “Alright then, I’ll wait for you tomorrow.”
“Sure, it’s a plan.” Arabella let out a quiet breath of relief.
“Have some watermelon–it’ll help you cool down,” Matthew suggested.

Arabella raised an eyebrow. So that was why he’d bought the watermelon. She had been wondering what prompted the sudden craving.
“Dr. Hamilton.” Andy opened the takeout box containing the freshly cut watermelon and handed her a fork.
“Thanks.” Arabella accepted it with a slight smile.
After spending the whole morning under the blazing sun, the cool, juicy watermelon was exactly what she needed. She speared a cube and brought it to her lips, closing her eyes briefly as the sweet flavor spread.
“Really good,” she murmured, already going for another piece.
Matthew watched the way her full, red lips parted with each bite, and his gaze darkened almost imperceptibly. That watermelon looked incredibly sweet.
Almost without thinking, he picked up his own fork and tried a piece. He frowned slightly and remarked under his breath, “Not really that sweet, though.”
Even though he’d spoken softly, Arabella caught it.
“Are you serious? It’s plenty sweet,” she replied before happily eating two more cubes.
Matthew looked up at her, still frowning slightly. Why did it seem sweeter when she ate it?
Watching her mouth move, he felt an unexpected dryness in his own throat.
When he made no move to eat more, Arabella glanced over. “Mr. Stewart, aren’t you having any?”
Matthew didn’t respond right away. Arabella tilted her head. “Mr. Stewart?”
Snapping out of his thoughts, he masked the faint awkwardness in his eyes, stood up, and said, “No, I’m fine. I should get going.”
“Oh–okay. I’ll call you tomorrow,” she said.
Since she’d agreed, she intended to keep her word.
“Mm.” With a short nod, Matthew turned and walked away with long, brisk strides,
Arabella shrugged slightly and continued enjoying her watermelon.
A short while later, noise drifted in from outside. She paused, fork in mid–air. “What’s all that commotion?”
Soon Chloe stepped inside. “Ms. Hamilton, there are some people outside making a scene. They’re demanding to see you. Security is trying to handle it, but they’re refusing to leave and keep shouting.”

Chapter 454 Unwelcome Visitors
“To see me?” Arabella’s brow furrowed. Who would come all the way here to pick a fight?
“Yes. They keep saying they want to speak to the person in charge. They won’t leave until they do,” Chloe added.
Arabella’s eyes narrowed, her tone dropping. “You mean they’re asking for the boss, not specifically for Arabella.”
“Well…” Chloe hesitated. “I suppose that’s correct.”
She didn’t quite grasp why the distinction mattered, but technically, that was what they were saying.
Arabella stood up. “Then I’ll go see what they want.”
“Yes.” Chloe followed her out of the office.
They soon reached the first–floor lobby.
Arabella immediately recognized Sarah and Zack–along with their son, Dylan.
“What’s all this about?” Arabella’s voice was cool and level.
She hadn’t expected it to be the Johnstons.

“Arabella, I knew you were behind this!” Dylan shouted angrily. “Let me tell you something–don’t get too full of yourself. Today I’m going to make sure your boss fires you, you vicious little-”
“Actually, she is the-” Chloe began, but Arabella shot her a silencing look.
Confused but obedient, Chloe closed her mouth and stepped back slightly.
Arabella folded her arms, a faint trace of mockery in her expression. “Fire me? And what makes you think you have that kind of pull
here?”
“Pull? This is just some drug manufacturing plant. It’s not that impressive,” Dylan sneered. “And look at you–you’ve fallen so low you’re literally digging in the dirt now, and you still act like you’re better than everyone?”
“Digging in the dirt?” Arabella almost laughed in disbelief. Was this guy getting dumber by the minute?
“Don’t play innocent. We saw you earlier, out in the back doing yard work or whatever. Things must be pretty bad for you if you’re doing manual labor now. And you’re still trying to cozy up to rich guys? Seems like Mr. Stewart isn’t giving you the time of day either,” Dylan taunted.
“Were you following me?” They’d shown up right after she’d been in the medicinal garden.
‘Please, don’t flatter yourself. We came to see Mr. Stewart-” Before Dylan could finish, his mother, Sarah, cut in sharply, “Dylan, stop wasting your breath on her.”
She turned her glare to Arabella. “Listen here. You need to get Mr. Stewart to back off from Johnston Group immediately. Otherwise, we will make sure you regret it.”
Arabella shrugged, unbothered. “That’s between you and him. Take it up with Mr. Stewart.”
“Save the act. We know you’re the one pulling the strings behind the scenes. Why else would Mr. Stewart suddenly come after our family business?” Sarah spat out bitterly.

Dylan chimed in, “Exactly. You’re nothing but bad news. Thank God I didn’t marry you back then–who knows how much more damage you would’ve done to our family?”
“More damage?” Arabella replied with icy sarcasm. “I doubt it could get much worse than it already is.”
“You-” Dylan pointed a shaking finger at her. “So you admit it! This was deliberate, wasn’t it? You just can’t get over me, can you? Still hung up on me after all this time?”
Arabella rolled her eyes so hard it looked painful. “If your brain isn’t working, go see a doctor. Don’t stand here embarrassing yourself with this nonsense, okay?”

I started the novel with great interest. In the beginning the storyline was captivating. Then I feel that the more the story advances, the twists were no longer great. Moreover I don't like Arabella s personality, cold, distant......
