“How dare you suggest there’s something wrong with my son’s mind!” Sarah’s face flushed with anger as she glared at Arabella. “Let me make one thing clear–no matter what schemes you come up with, you will never be part of this family. You should let that idea go right now.”

Arabella sighed, shaking her head with a hint of pity. “I’m sorry, but that thought never even crossed my mind. I do have some self- respect, you know.”

“You’ve got quite the mouth on you,” Zack cut in arrogantly. “Enough chit–chat. Just settle things with Mr. Stewart as soon as possible.”

“Not happening,” Arabella replied flatly.

How could she possibly stop Matthew? Not only would she not interfere–she’d make sure to give him an extra push while he was down.

“Arabella, don’t make things harder for yourself!” Dylan warned sharply.

“Looks like your reasoning really is beyond help,” Arabella said, tired of wasting her breath. She turned to the security team. “Please escort them out. If they keep causing a disturbance, call the police.”

“Yes,” the guards replied promptly, moving to usher the group toward the exit.

“Arabella, you’re nobody special–who gave you the right to throw us out?” Dylan shouted, furious.

“Where’s your supervisor? Get your boss out here now!” Sarah yelled at the top of her lungs.

Zack stared hard at Arabella. “Are you really going to be this heartless?”

“Your beloved son tried to have me killed!” Arabella shot back, her expression one of disbelief. “Don’t you think what I’m doing now is more than generous?”

“You can’t just throw accusations around. Where’s your proof?” Zack snapped.

Arabella shrugged lightly. “If you’ve got nothing to hide, why come begging Mr. Stewart for mercy?”

She guessed they’d already looked into the situation. It wasn’t just her–Matthew had been targeted too. They were probably desperate, hoping to plead with him to back off.

But why show up here? This wasn’t even Matthew’s company.

Had they followed him here?

“If you don’t leave now, we’re calling the police,” one of the security guards stated firmly as they continued guiding the family toward the doors.

“Ms. Hamilton, are we really letting them go just like that?” Chloe whispered cautiously.

She didn’t know all the details, but she’d heard clearly enough–that man had tried to harm Arabella. Wasn’t that serious?

A faint, cold smile touched Arabella’s lips. “Of course not. But when an animal’s cornered, it’ll fight back–and that’s when it makes mistakes.”

She needed solid evidence first. Only then could she make sure Dylan faced what he deserved.

The three members of the Johnston family were still making a scene, shouting and cursing loudly.

The head guard issued a final warning. “This is your last chance. Keep it up and we dial 911.”

Seeing the guard already holding his phone, the group quickly quieted down, their protests fading into muttered complaints.

“Leave now, or we won’t be polite,” the guard urged firmly.

“Mom, what do we do now?” Dylan asked, frustration evident in his voice.

He never expected those guards to listen to Arabella. What was so special about her? She was just some small–town girl.

“We came to ask Mr. Stewart for help, and we didn’t even get to see him. That Arabella wouldn’t budge and just had us thrown out I… I’m out of ideas,” Sarah admitted, feeling utterly helpless.

Zack’s expression was grim. “Let’s head home and regroup.”

“Go home?” Sarah paled. “If we don’t figure something out soon, Johnston Group is done for!”

“If it comes to that, I’ll reach out to the Clarks. Maybe there’s still something we can work out together,” Zack said through

clenched teeth.

Sarah shook her head. “You’re going to them again? If it weren’t for their mess, Johnston Group wouldn’t have had cash flow problems in the first place. We wouldn’t be struggling so hard against Horizon Corp’s pressure.”

“Exactly because they’re in trouble too. If we pool our resources, there might still be a way out,” Zack insisted.

“But…” Sarah hesitated.

“Mom, let Dad give it a try. Right now we can’t even get to Mr. Stewart–and even if we did, there’s no guarantee he’d back off. Besides, I haven’t seen Harper in days. I want to check on her too.” Dylan tugged at Sarah’s sleeve, pleading.
