“Relax, I’m not asking you to change your mind. I just need you to stay completely loyal to Harper–you two deserve each other. That way, you won’t go out and wreck anyone else’s life.” Honestly, with both of them being so messed up, keeping them together was practically doing the world a favor.
“That’s bull,” Ethan shot back, his expression darkening. How could anyone say something like that?
“You’re reaching.” A crisp female voice cut in, dripping with disdain. “Don’t even act like she ever would’ve
That empty head of yours?” been into you. She’s neither blind nor stupid–what would she see in
Arabella turned, slightly surprised. “Brielle!”
Now that was the kind of sharp tongue she could appreciate.
“Seriously, they have zero self–awareness, so why bother being polite?” Brielle walked over to Arabella, wearing a look of pure disgust.
“Good point,” Arabella agreed with a nod.
Brielle broke into a smile. “Right? My dad told me not to get involved, but I couldn’t just stand here and watch.”
She really did look like she was waiting for a pat on the back. Arabella allowed herself a slight smile. The girl had a certain charm.
“Hey, who do you think you are? How dare you call my sweetie a loser?” Harper glared at Brielle, fuming.
“I call it like I see it,” Brielle retorted, unbothered. “And trash like you doesn’t even deserve to know my
name.”
“Security, just get them out of here already. They’re an eyesore,” Brielle waved a hand dismissively.
“Yes.” The guards moved forward again.
Harper pointed angrily at Ethan. “He hit me! I’m calling the cops! If you all just stand there and do nothing, you’re covering for him!”
“You really are something else,” Brielle scoffed. “You want to call the police? The only reason no one here has dialed 911 yet is out of respect for Mr. Ethan–well, actually, out of respect for his sister.”
“What are you trying to say?” Harper demanded, frowning. “Don’t you try to scare me!”
“Tsk, tsk, hopeless,” Brielle sighed, turning to Calvin. “You seem like the reasonable one. Can’t you see you’re only getting by because of Mr. Edward?”
Calvin’s face paled further. Of course he could see it.
Then Brielle glanced at Arabella. “Honestly, going easy on them is only going to bite you later.
“Don’t you think so, Mr. Macdonald?” She finally let her gaze settle on Edward.

Edward looked uneasy. He clenched his jaw and said, “Arabella, you don’t have to worry about me.”
He cared about Arabella too, and he was firmly on her side. He knew perfectly well that his uncle and siste were in the wrong.
But even now, Arabella was still considering his feelings first. It just reminded him how useless he felt as a brother.
Arabella offered Edward a soft smile and a gentle nod. “Don’t feel pressured, Edward.”
Then she turned back to Brielle. “You really can’t judge a book by its cover.”
Last time, she’d thought Brielle had a bit of a princess complex, but the girl clearly had a sharp mind beneath it all.
“Hehe, was that a compliment?” Brielle beamed.
The more she watched her, the more she liked her. “Yes, it was,” Arabella confirmed.
“In that case, don’t even bother with these idiots. I’ll handle them for you.” Looking thoroughly pleased with herself, Brielle stepped closer to Harper and deliberately raised her voice. “Let me tell you something Mr. Ethan is an investment prodigy over in Doranor City. Anyone in finance knows his name.”
“Liar. No way.” Harper refused to believe it. “Last time Arabella came to our place trying to scam my brother, he was with her. I saw it myself.”
“Oh, give it a rest. You’re already dumb–no need to advertise it.” Brielle turned directly to Edward. “She keeps saying your sister came to scam you. Is that true?”
“No,” Edward explained firmly. “Back then, Arabella had just left home. I was worried about how she was doing and wanted to give her some money, but she didn’t take a cent.”
“Hear that?” Brielle said slowly, emphasizing each word as she smirked at Harper.
“My brother’s been fooled by her. That’s why he keeps defending her,” Harper insisted, still making
excuses.
“You said he’s your own brother. If even your own brother won’t take your side, maybe you should take a long, hard look in the mirror and ask yourself where you went wrong.” Brielle curled her lip. “But honestly, your brother’s been way too kind to you. If I had a sister like you, I’d have cut ties a long time that than keeping you around to cause chaos.”

The readers' comments on the novel: True Heiress Returns to Her Unemployed Rich Family (Arabella)
I started the novel with great interest. In the beginning the storyline was captivating. Then I feel that the more the story advances, the twists were no longer great. Moreover I don't like Arabella s personality, cold, distant......
