Chapter 492 Investment Terms

“Violet Lennox, what’s with the yelling?” Brielle shot back, a smirk playing on her lips. “Did I say something untrue?”
“Maybe I can’t, but does that mean you can?” Violet’s face flushed with anger.
Brielle shrugged, casual and unbothered. “Whether I can or not, at least I’m not over here picking fights for no reason.”
“If you can’t do it either, then keep your mouth shut,” Violet snapped.
With an innocent tilt of her head, Brielle fired back, “You’re not exactly qualified either, so maybe take your own advice?”
“Brielle, are you trying to start something?” Violet’s voice rose, edged with desperation.
Brielle rolled her eyes. “Looks to me like you’re the one itching for drama.”
“I’m just speaking up for what’s right. I don’t want a promising project ruined by someone talking out of their depth,” Violet insisted, lifting her chin.
“How noble of you,” Brielle said sarcastically. “But I happen to think Arabella is the one saving this project.” She tossed her hair confidently. “And you have the nerve to question her? Please- you’re not even fit to tie her shoes. Hmph!”
Watching Brielle go off, Arabella couldn’t help but feel amused. This girl was like a walking, talking sarcasm generator–never running out of comebacks.
“Brielle, drop it,” Arabella said calmly. “Arguing with someone who refuses to listen is a waste of energy.”
Then she turned to Reid. “I’m willing to invest, but under three conditions. First, the design needs to be perfected–and I mean fully polished–until I’m completely satisfied. Second, I’ll handle manufacturing, but your team will need to provide on–site technical support during production. And third, the investment proposal has to be revised. The current terms aren’t going to work.”
Completely sidelined, Violet scowled. “Stop putting on an act,” she spat. “The only reason anyone’s even listening to you is because you’re Mr. Ethan’s sister. Otherwise, nobody would give you the time of day.”
Arabella raised a cool eyebrow. “But I am his sister. Is there a problem with that?”

“You-” Violet seethed. “I’ve never seen someone so shameless!”

“Takes one to know one,” Brielle jumped in. “This has nothing to do with you, yet here you are, inserting yourself into the conversation. Sounds pretty meddlesome to me.”
“Who are you calling meddlesome?” Violet snapped, losing her composure.
“Uh, you? Is anyone else here talking back to me right now?” Brielle replied, chin held high.
Violet lunged forward. “I’ll shut your mouth for you!”
Before things could get physical, others stepped between them.
“Ladies, let’s keep it civil.”
“This isn’t the place for a fight.”
“Let go of me! She’s not getting away with this!” Violet shouted, struggling.
Brielle kept prodding. “Oh, I’m so scared! Come on then, if you think you can!”
“Brielle!”
“Violet!”
Two sharp voices cut through the tension, and the room fell silent.
Both girls immediately stilled, neither daring to continue.
“Dad, she started it,” Violet whined, turning to her father.
Brielle curled her lip. “Can’t win an argument, so you run to Daddy? Maybe you should stick to playing with your little DIY kits instead of embarrassing yourself in public.”
“Brielle, that’s enough,” Caleb said firmly, though his frown was slight.
“I’m not wrong,” Brielle muttered under her breath, but she finally quieted down.
Violet’s eyes grew watery, as though she’d been deeply wronged.
“Mr. Lennox, my daughter was out of line. My apologies,” Caleb said politely.
Tyler Lennox had little choice but to respond in kind. “No need, Mr. Miller. It was just a heated moment between young people. Violet may have overstepped as well.”

Caleb’s gaze then shifted to Brielle. He noticed Arabella had subtly moved to stand slightly in front of her, a protective gesture. His brow lifted almost imperceptibly. So Arabella did hold Brielle in higher regard–she was shielding her now.
He offered a polite smile. “Most of us in the industry know Mr. Ethan by reputation, but not his family name. How should we address his sister?”
Arabella replied simply. “Dr. Hamilton is fine.”
“Ah, a doctor!” Caleb feigned mild surprise. “No wonder you could pinpoint the issues in the design with such precision.”
“Pfft. Since when does being a doctor make someone an expert in everything?” one of Violet’s friends murmured.
“Maybe she’s just bluffing. It’s not like there’s an engineer here to fact–check her,” another added, rallying behind Violet.
“Well, if you don’t know what you’re talking about, maybe sit down and let those who do handle it,” Brielle shot back without hesitation.

I started the novel with great interest. In the beginning the storyline was captivating. Then I feel that the more the story advances, the twists were no longer great. Moreover I don't like Arabella s personality, cold, distant......
