True Heiress Returns to Her Unemployed Rich Family (Arabella) novel Chapter 544

Ethan shook his head. "It's not about whether I know or not—Arabella doesn't have a boyfriend."

He couldn't figure out why Matthew would even ask something like that.

"Someone saw it firsthand," Matthew replied before sliding into his car.

"Hey, hold on—explain yourself. Who saw what? When did this happen? And who's supposed to be this boyfriend?" Ethan fired off questions one after another, but got no response.

All he was left with was the sight of Matthew's Rolls-Royce pulling away down the street.

"Arabella... has a boyfriend?" Ethan still found it hard to believe.

No matter how he turned it over in his head, it just didn't seem possible. Then again, Matthew wasn't one to spread baseless rumors.

Ethan took a deep breath, turned around, and strode back into the villa.

Upstairs, he knocked on Arabella's door.

She opened it, looking slightly confused. "Ethan? What's up?"

"There's something I need to ask you," he said, his expression serious.

Noticing his tone, Arabella frowned. "What is it?"

Ethan studied her face for a moment before asking slowly, "Are you seeing someone?"

Arabella looked genuinely surprised. "What? Since when? Who told you that?"

"So you're not?" Ethan pressed, wanting to be sure.

"Of course not. Why would I lie to you about that?" Arabella replied, almost amused.

If she had a boyfriend, she'd say so. If not, then not.

"Okay, then. Never mind," Ethan said, visibly relaxing.

As he turned to leave, Arabella caught his arm. "Ethan, you still haven't told me who said that."

"I just..." He hesitated, then changed course. "I thought I might've seen something, so I wanted to check. Guess I was mistaken."

"You saw me?" Arabella sensed something off.

"No—I thought it was you. Since it wasn't, I must've gotten it wrong," Ethan explained.

He decided not to bring Matthew into it. No need to stir up unnecessary misunderstandings.

And as for Matthew's claim that "someone saw it"—maybe Matthew himself had misjudged the situation.

Seeing that Ethan didn't seem to be hiding anything, Arabella simply said, "Oh, alright."

"Yeah, it was just a quick glimpse. Definitely my mistake," Ethan added.

Arabella didn't push further.

"Get some rest, then," Ethan said.

"You too, Ethan," Arabella replied with a soft smile.

Ethan nodded. "I'll pick you up in the morning."

"Sounds good," Arabella agreed.

After he left, she settled into bed for the night.

Thinking about how her family had enjoyed the dinner she'd prepared, she felt deeply content.

"Right, of course," Orion said, catching himself. He'd almost forgotten she preferred to keep a low profile.

"Sorry, I just got excited," he added, then corrected. "Dr. Hamilton."

Arabella nodded. "I'm aware of the situation. Let's head over now."

"Sure thing," Orion agreed, following her out of the office.

As they walked, Orion carefully outlined Dylan's supposed condition.

"The private room is just ahead. The specialists the Johnstons brought are already inside," he mentioned.

"Are the police there as well?" Arabella asked.

Orion nodded. "Yes, they're present."

"Good," Arabella said, picking up her pace slightly.

Orion was briefly puzzled but didn't dwell on it, quickly matching her stride.

Outside the hospital room, Orion made the introduction. "This is Dr. Hamilton."

One of the specialists eyed Arabella with clear skepticism. "She seems quite young to be a doctor."

"She is on the younger side," Orion admitted, "but her medical expertise is exceptional." His tone held clear respect.

"Look at her—she can't be out of college yet. Are we sure she's qualified to handle a case like this?"

"This isn't some kind of setup, is it?"

Facing their doubts, Orion replied calmly, "Don't worry. In professional circles, few can match her level of skill."
