True Heiress Returns to Her Unemployed Rich Family (Arabella) novel Chapter 593

"If you enjoy hot springs, I can take you once you're all healed up," Matthew offered, sounding like he wanted to make it up to her for missing out earlier.

Arabella shook her head quickly. "No, it's fine—I'm not really into them."

If she ever wanted to go, she'd go on her own. She didn't need him tagging along.

Matthew didn't press further and quietly left her room.

Arabella tended to the harder-to-reach wounds herself before finally settling into bed.

For some reason, whenever Matthew crossed her mind now, she didn't feel awkward at all. Instead, a slight smile tugged at the corners of her mouth, leaving her in a surprisingly good mood.

She turned over, closed her eyes, and was soon fast asleep.

Cloudrise Manor.

Naomi sat alone in the vast living room, every light turned on bright.

"Ms. Hamilton, are you still cold? Could you be coming down with something? Should I call a doctor?" Paul asked with concern as he approached.

Naomi shook her head. "Just bring me another blanket, please."

"Well..." Paul hesitated. "Maybe it would be better to have a doctor check you over."

"I'm not sick. Just the blanket, please." Naomi's voice came out faint and weary.

Seeing how firm she was, Paul reluctantly signaled for a servant to fetch one.

Soon, a soft fleece blanket was brought over and draped around her shoulders.

Naomi pulled it tightly around herself, but it still didn't feel like enough. She tucked her legs up under the blanket too, curling into a ball.

Paul watched her, now wrapped in two blankets yet still pale and shivering, and grew increasingly worried.

"Go and fix some hot chocolate," he instructed a maid nearby.

"Right away," she replied and hurried off.

Before long, the steaming mug was handed to Naomi.

"Ms. Hamilton, sip this—it'll help warm you up," Paul encouraged gently.

Naomi glanced down, took the mug, and cupped it in both hands. The heat seeped into her fingers, finally bringing a little feeling back into them.

"Thank you, Paul," she murmured.

"Drink up, then head upstairs and get some proper rest. You might feel better by morning," he added kindly.

Naomi gave a slight nod. "It's late... You should all get some sleep too. I'll go up in a little while."

"Very well." Paul reminded her softly, "If you need anything at all, just ring for me."

Once Paul and the staff had withdrawn, Naomi was alone in the living room again.

Her eyes looked hollow, filled with a quiet turmoil and something close to despair.

She never expected that after paying the guy five hundred thousand dollars, he'd come back greedy for more. She'd ignored his calls and even blocked his number, but he still showed up at her workplace.

If this kept going, and everything came to light, her life would be over.

But she also knew that giving in now would only lead to endless demands later.

She felt completely panicked, with no idea what to do next.

She didn't even dare go back to her apartment. Hiding out at Cloudrise Manor was her only option—but it wasn't a real solution. She couldn't stay here forever.

Lost and helpless, she had no one she could confide in about any of this.

She truly didn't know where to turn or what her next move should be.
