He never could say no to Arabella—not about anything.
"Thanks, Frank." A small smile touched Arabella's lips.
"Alright everyone, it's about that time," Florence called out. "Let's head back for breakfast."
"Sounds good," came the chorus of replies, and the group began making their way back.
"Hey, don't forget to send me those pictures later," Alfred said.
"I'll drop them in the group chat—everyone can grab theirs from there," Ethan replied.
"Got it." Alfred nodded.
Edward edged closer to Arabella, lowering his voice. "Make sure you send me mine, okay?"
Arabella smiled at him and nodded. "Will do."
"What about ours?" Robert chimed in.
"I'll send yours in a sec," Ryan assured him.
"Good," Robert said, satisfied.
Chatting as they walked, they soon reached the dining room.
Breakfast was already laid out, and the staff quickly brought everything to the table.
"After you eat, if you're tired, feel free to rest up," Frank announced. "Otherwise, you're welcome to explore the grounds some more."
"Arabella, don't push yourself. Go get some rest," Alfred told her.
"Really, I'm fine," she insisted. She still wanted to look around.
"Take a break first," Alfred insisted gently. "After you've rested, I'll go with you."
They'd woken up so early for the sunrise, and he was worried she'd wear herself out.
"He's right," Edward agreed. "Get some rest, Arabella. If you still want to join us later, we can wait."
"No, that's okay—you all go ahead," Arabella said quickly, shaking her head.
She didn't want to hold up the group, especially since they were heading back that afternoon.
"Then I'll take Edward around, and Alfred can wait for you," Ethan suggested.
"Okay. Thanks, Ethan," Arabella said.
Ethan's eyes held a warm glint. "No problem."
"I think I'll stroll through the gardens again," Lena said. She truly loved flowers—never tired of admiring them.
"I'll join you," Ryan offered.
"Bring the chess set," Robert added. "We can have some coffee and play a round while the ladies enjoy the blooms."
Ryan nodded, pleased. "I like that idea."
"Grandma, Grandpa, you and Robert go on ahead," Frank said. "I'll have someone bring the coffee and chessboard over."
"Alright," the older folks agreed. Having finished their meal, they headed out first.
After arranging for a server, Frank turned to Jonathan and Florence. "Mom, Dad, any plans for you two?"
"Don't worry about us," Jonathan said with a wave. "We'll just take a casual walk."
Frank nodded. "Sure thing."
A little while later, breakfast was done.
