Ethan made a sulky face. "You're totally playing favorites."
"When my brother gives you a hard time, I'll have your back too," Arabella said, trying to soothe him.
"Him, give me a hard time?" Ethan looked disgusted all over again.
"See?" Arabella arched an eyebrow. "I'm off the hook. If you think it's unfair, just cut back on teasing my brother so much."
"Teasing him? I was just goofing around. And you think I haven't helped him enough? No appreciation at all." Ethan felt a sting. Was she really his own sister?
"You're both right. This is on me," Edward jumped in, playing peacemaker. "Come on, let's just eat."
"Now you're talking," Ethan grumbled, somewhat pacified.
But Arabella shook her head. "No, none of us did anything wrong."
"Right, no one's wrong," Edward quickly agreed.
"Eat your greens," Arabella said, serving Edward some vegetables.
Ethan immediately pushed his own plate toward her, fixing her with puppy-dog eyes.
Arabella couldn't help but laugh. She scooped some food onto his plate as well, and only then did Ethan finally brighten up.

Calvin returned to the hospital, looking thoroughly beaten.
"What's wrong? Did it not go well?" Freya frowned as she saw his expression.
He let out a heavy sigh, frustration written all over his face. "We hit a wall."
"Just spit it out!" Freya's mood shifted, anxiety creeping into her voice.
Calvin filled her in on what had happened at Macdonald Capital. "Who would've guessed Ethan showed up right at that moment?"
If Ethan hadn't appeared out of thin air, things would have gone their way today. They could've sold Edward's company, raised some quick cash, and kept Clark Group breathing.
"Ethan?" Harper's brow furrowed. "You mean Arabella's brother?"
The same man who'd publicly humiliated them at that charity gala.
"Yeah," Calvin said bitterly. "I still don't know exactly who he is, but anyone in Doranor City with real clout treats him with respect."
"Mom, if he keeps protecting my brother and Arabella like this, your plans aren't likely to work," Harper said, a hint of defeat in her voice. She had learned that lesson through painful experience.
"So what do we do now?" Freya had to admit it was a problem.
"Maybe we should dig into Ethan's background first. Once we know more, we might find a way to handle them," Harper suggested.
But Freya shook her head. "That might not be so easy. Your father couldn't find anything back then."
That was why they'd assumed that girl came from a family of nobodies. They never imagined she had such a powerful brother backing her.

The readers' comments on the novel: True Heiress Returns to Her Unemployed Rich Family (Arabella)
This has been going for too long in circles. Reached ch 654 and it's still the same twists no changes at all. Other novels reaches it's climax not beyond ch 300 and it's more captivating. Don't let us readers abandon this....
Update please...
I started the novel with great interest. In the beginning the storyline was captivating. Then I feel that the more the story advances, the twists were no longer great. Moreover I don't like Arabella s personality, cold, distant......
