True Heiress Returns to Her Unemployed Rich Family (Arabella) novel Chapter 641

Freya's eyes gradually brightened. "If that's really the case, that girl must be absolutely furious."

The thought made Freya almost giddy. "Perfect. I can't wait to see how miserable she looks then."

Harper bit her lip, offering a shy, hopeful smile. "You'll help me, won't you, Mom?"

"Don't worry about a thing," Freya said confidently. "With your looks and me working behind the scenes, Ethan won't stand a chance."

"Mm-hmm." Harper nodded, feeling a flicker of optimism.

Since Dylan had shattered her heart, clinging to the past was pointless. What she needed now was to climb—as high as she possibly could. Matthew was out of her league, so Ethan was clearly the best available option.

Freya was already daydreaming, picturing how wonderful it would be to have that girl's brother as her future son-in-law, always there to protect her daughter. The idea alone lifted her spirits.

Horizon Corp.

"Mr. Stewart, the situation has been handled," Andy reported, detailing everything he had uncovered.

"So Ethan stepped in," Matthew said, feeling a trace of relief.

"Yes, sir. They're likely having lunch at Macdonald Capital as we speak," Andy replied.

Matthew's expression remained composed. "Good. As long as it's resolved."

"It seems the Clark family is making some moves, though. Should we have someone monitor them?" Andy inquired.

"Unnecessary. Ethan will manage it," Matthew stated, convinced that the trio wasn't just sharing a casual meal.

"Understood," Andy acknowledged.

Matthew looked up at him. "Once Tylin returns, inform him he's required at a meeting."

Andy blinked, confused. "A meeting? What sort of meeting?"

This was sudden—he hadn't heard anything about it.

Matthew shot him a sideways glance. "If you've grown tired of being an assistant, I'm sure someone else would be happy to take over."

Sometimes he wondered if Andy had been at Horizon Corp for too long; his thinking had gotten sluggish.

Andy straightened up quickly. "Right. I'll notify him immediately."

Whatever the meeting was, he'd just pass the message along. Tylin was a designer, after all—it was probably related to some design department project.

Then it clicked. "Mr. Stewart, I'll also reach out to the design director and mention that we'll need Tylin Design Studio's input on the new season's product launch."

Matthew gave a satisfied nod. "Proceed."

"Yes, sir." Andy discreetly wiped his brow. That was close—he'd nearly jeopardized his position.

Now he understood. The meeting itself was irrelevant. Matthew was intentionally pressuring Tylin to slip up, which would eventually reveal the real person behind the name.

"Mr. Stewart, tonight's engagement is still confirmed?" Andy verified.

"Yes."

"Very well." Andy nodded and exited the office.

"You're definitely not the same Mr. Stewart from before."

"Who knows? Maybe wedding bells aren't far off!"

"Haha..."

Amid the lighthearted banter, Matthew smoothly redirected the conversation. "I assume this event isn't solely to discuss my personal life. Shall we proceed to the main agenda?"

"Right this way, Mr. Stewart," Derek said, gesturing politely.

Matthew led the way inside, the others following suit.

"Looks like things are pretty serious between Mr. Stewart and Dr. Hamilton."

"Absolutely. I was there at the last event—I've never seen him so attentive toward anyone."

"Same here. He's never shown that kind of interest in any woman before."

A small group of women huddled together, chatting eagerly. Reactions were mixed—some envious, others simply curious.

But from a shadowed corner, a pair of intense, watchful eyes followed Matthew's every move.

Glasses clinked, and drinks flowed steadily.

"I'll have the project proposal delivered to your offices tomorrow," Derek mentioned.

"Sounds acceptable," Matthew replied.

Derek raised his glass enthusiastically. "A toast to Mr. Stewart, and to a successful partnership in advance."
