True Heiress Returns to Her Unemployed Rich Family (Arabella) novel Chapter 652

"I knew Aaron was developing a new cardiac medication, and my formula could support his research," she explained. That was the reason she had shared it with him.

"You really think of everything. No wonder Mr. Belmont was so determined to stay on," Chloe remarked, a warm smile in her eyes.

"We help each other out," Arabella replied, feeling quite content with how things were going.

As they spoke, Arabella finished signing the necessary documents.

Chloe collected the papers. "I'll get these filed now."

"Go ahead," Arabella said.

Once Chloe left, Arabella's gaze drifted to the coffee cup beside her, and for some reason, Matthew came to mind.

"Bet he's not living on coffee anymore," she muttered under her breath, then shook her head lightly. "Why am I thinking about him? He's not worth the mental space."

She picked up her reports and returned to work, unaware that her tone had carried a slight edge.

Before long, it was time for lunch.

Checking the clock, she stood and left her office.

"Heading out for lunch, Ms. Hamilton?" Chloe asked as she passed by.

"Yes." Arabella nodded, making her way to the elevator.

She drove herself from the office building and soon arrived at the agreed-upon restaurant.

"Arabella!" Brielle waved enthusiastically from a booth. "Over here!"

With a faint smile, Arabella walked over and took a seat across from her.

"I went ahead and ordered already. Want to take a look and add anything?" Brielle slid the menu toward her.

Arabella scanned the selections and raised an eyebrow. "You ordered this much?"

"Hey," Brielle grinned. "If you don't want to add anything, we can just go with this." She began motioning for the server.

"Hold on," Arabella stopped her. "Let's remove a few of these dishes."

Brielle's face fell. "You're not adding anything, and now you're cutting items?"

"There are only two of us. Ordering too much is wasteful," Arabella pointed out gently.

"But I wanted to do something nice for you," Brielle said, biting her lip.

Arabella almost chuckled. "I knew you were still hung up on that incident. It's over—and it wasn't your fault to begin with."

"But you got splashed because of me," Brielle insisted, guilt creeping into her voice.

"If someone tried to do that to me, would you have my back?" Arabella asked.

"Absolutely. No one messes with you," Brielle replied without hesitation.
