Jonathan paused, his brow furrowing slightly. "What could be going on with her?" he wondered aloud.
Florence let out a soft sigh, her voice tinged with worry. "I really don't know... I just have this uneasy feeling, and I can't seem to shake it."
Trying to sound reassuring, Jonathan replied, "Try not to overthink it. She's growing up—teenagers keep things to themselves sometimes."
"I know, but I'm afraid she might do something reckless," Florence admitted, clasping her hands together. "Once things go wrong, it's not so easy to fix them."
Jonathan's expression turned more intent. "Did you notice something specific?"
"No, not really," Florence said, shaking her head slowly. "But haven't you thought the last couple of days have been... a little too coincidental?"
"Coincidental?" Jonathan thought for a moment, then his eyes widened slightly. "You don't mean... No, that can't be."
"I hope I'm wrong," Florence said, her face pale. "I don't believe Naomi would do anything like that, but this worry just won't leave me. Night before last, Naomi didn't come home at all. Arabella was called out to check on Matthew, and she was gone all night too. And today when they came back, Arabella looked like she wanted to say something but didn't, and Naomi had those bruises..."
Now Jonathan looked seriously concerned. "Putting it that way... it does sound concerning."
He paused, then added quietly, "But if Naomi really did hurt Matthew, he probably wouldn't let it slide easily, would he?"
"With anyone else, maybe not," Florence said softly. "But with Naomi... Matthew might come off as cold, but he cares about family history. Even if he was furious with her, he'd still think about how we'd feel." Just imagining it sent a chill through her.
Jonathan took a deep breath, forcing himself to stay calm. "Let's not jump to conclusions. I'll have Paul look into it quietly."
"Alright." Florence nodded, somewhat relieved. Checking was better than just worrying—if it turned out to be nothing, she could finally relax.
"Try not to stress yourself out," Jonathan told her gently. "If you're feeling overwhelmed, why not book a spa day? Some aromatherapy might help you unwind."
Florence managed a faint smile. "I'll be fine. Don't worry about me—go ahead with your work."
"Okay," Jonathan said. "I'll wrap up early tonight."
"Oh, before you go," Florence remembered, "how are the plans for the Autumn Gala coming along?"
"Everything's on track," Jonathan assured her.
Florence smiled, looking a little more at ease. "Good. I should start picking out evening gowns for the girls. I'll ask them tonight—see if Arabella has any preferences."
"Sounds good," Jonathan agreed. "You can preselect a few styles and let them choose later."
"I'll do that," Florence replied.
With one last warm glance her way, Jonathan turned and headed out.
Once alone, Florence thought for a moment, then called for her driver and set out to browse some designer boutiques.
Meanwhile, across town, Arabella was already on the road.

The readers' comments on the novel: True Heiress Returns to Her Unemployed Rich Family (Arabella)
This has been going for too long in circles. Reached ch 654 and it's still the same twists no changes at all. Other novels reaches it's climax not beyond ch 300 and it's more captivating. Don't let us readers abandon this....
Update please...
I started the novel with great interest. In the beginning the storyline was captivating. Then I feel that the more the story advances, the twists were no longer great. Moreover I don't like Arabella s personality, cold, distant......
