Arabella was trapped—the tall guy already had the knife out, aimed right at her heart.
"This is it," she thought, her stomach dropping. She'd let her guard down.
Just as the blade was about to connect, the room seemed to dim. A shadow dropped from above.
Then she heard the short guy yelp, "Ow! Who just kicked me?"
"Who are you?" The tall guy sounded just as shocked.
Arabella blinked a few times before everything clicked into place. She couldn't believe her eyes. "Matthew?"
Oh my God—he actually came.
So when Andy showed up, it meant Matthew was nearby after all.
For some reason, her heart gave a little jump. Staring at his tall, solid frame standing in front of her, she felt completely safe.
"Matt—" The tall guy froze the moment he heard Arabella say Matthew's name. He was so startled he dropped the knife.
It clattered loudly against the concrete floor.
"Bam!"
Over by the entrance, Andy broke through and rushed in.
When he saw Matthew was injured, his eyes flashed with anger. "Mr. Stewart, they actually hurt you!"
"It's nothing serious." Matthew lowered his arm and glared coldly at the two stunned men. "You can turn yourselves in now, or I'll have someone take you in."
"We'll go—right now, we'll go." The tall guy immediately pulled out his phone and dialed 911. "Hello? I want to turn myself in..."
After hanging up, he said desperately, "Mr. Stewart, I swear I never meant to hurt you. I had no idea you'd show up like that out of nowhere."
"Who hired you?" Matthew didn't waste time—he cut straight to the point.
"The Johnstons," the tall guy explained hurriedly. "They said this woman got their son sent to prison and ruined their family business. They told us they couldn't just let her walk away from it."
"Call them back," Matthew said coolly. "Tell them this has nothing to do with Dr. Hamilton. If they have a problem, they can take it up with me."
"Huh?" The tall guy's hands were trembling. He didn't know what to do.
Andy smacked him lightly on the back of the head. "Do what he said."
"Y-yes, sir." The tall guy quickly called Zack and Sarah.
"Is it done?" Zack's voice came through, sounding almost eager.
The tall guy swallowed hard. "Um... Mr. Stewart says you should deal with him directly and leave the wo—"
He caught Matthew's look and quickly corrected himself. "Leave Dr. Hamilton out of it."
"You got caught?" Zack sounded both furious and frustrated.
The tall guy hesitated, then admitted, "I already called the cops on myself. They'll be here any minute."
"Whew." The tall guy slumped to the floor. At least his head was still attached.
"Hey, why were you so scared of that guy?" the short guy asked, still clueless.
The tall guy glared at him. "You have no idea... honestly, maybe it's better you don't know. Ignorance is bliss."
"Both of you, shut it. The police are almost here," Andy said with a cold smirk. "Next time, do your homework. Don't jump into shady jobs."
"If I'd known Dr. Hamilton was connected to Mr. Stewart, I wouldn't have touched this job for ten times the pay!" The tall guy was seething at Zack now. That guy had almost gotten him killed.
Andy just snorted. "Maybe don't do illegal stuff at all, and you won't have these problems."
Sure, they'd messed with the wrong person this time—but what about all the other dirty work they'd done before?
The short guy scratched his head. "So we really picked a fight with someone big this time, huh?"
The tall guy looked at him and let out a heavy, weary sigh.

"Are you telling me Mr. Stewart saved that little witch?" Sarah gasped in disbelief.
"That's what the guy said," Zack replied bitterly. "He said he turned himself in and the cops are coming. He also passed on a message from Mr. Stewart—sounded like Stewart was right there when it happened. He stepped in, saved her, and the guy ratted us out to save his own skin."
"That useless coward!" Sarah fumed.
They'd ended up sabotaging themselves—completely backfired.

The readers' comments on the novel: True Heiress Returns to Her Unemployed Rich Family (Arabella)
This has been going for too long in circles. Reached ch 654 and it's still the same twists no changes at all. Other novels reaches it's climax not beyond ch 300 and it's more captivating. Don't let us readers abandon this....
Update please...
I started the novel with great interest. In the beginning the storyline was captivating. Then I feel that the more the story advances, the twists were no longer great. Moreover I don't like Arabella s personality, cold, distant......
