Chapter 130 Sebastian’s Turn To Brag
The more he looked, the more Serena reminded him of a little rabbit.
Suddenly, Sebastian’s eyes flicked to the entrance, where a pair of men’s slippers sat neatly in a transparent plastic bag
Had she gotten those for him?
Serena, worried he’d been waiting too long, quickly scurried back to the door, her cheeks faintly flushed from running “Here you go. I put these away after you left them the other day.”
Sebastian took them from her hand, and his slightly cool fingertips brushed hers unintentionally. His lips curved into a half–state. “Thank you.”
Then, his gaze landed on the brand–new slippers.
“Are these for me?” he asked in a low and hoarse voice.
Serena hadn’t expected him to notice. “Yeah, I bought them when I passed by the supermarket. Can’t have you coming over again and walking around barefoot.”
Sebastian nodded, clearly pleased. “Well, I don’t have time to try them today. Maybe next time.”
Serena was flabbergasted. She hadn’t meant that as an invitation!
Besides, they were just slippers. What was there to try on?
Sebastian didn’t linger. He slid his glasses onto the bridge of his nose, and the silver frame caught the light, reflecting a cold, pale glow. “I’ll go ahead. Good night. See you this weekend.”
“Good night. See you around,” she answered.
With the weekend just two days away, she couldn’t understand why she felt compelled to say that to him over and over
Meanwhile, Julian had just left the dinner when he received a text with a photo attached. He frowned in confusion, staring at the ordinary pair of slippers.
What was going on? Were these slippers somehow diamond–studded? Was it really worth Sebastian, busy as he is, to take a photo and send it to him?
Julian wrote, “What’s this?”
Sebastian answered, “My girlfriend bought me these slippers. Has your girlfriend ever bought you one? Sorry, I forgot, You’re still single.”
Julian clarified, “Excuse me?”
How cruel of Sebastian! Why did he have to rub it in Julian’s face?
Naturally, Julian was exasperated.

Meanwhile, Amber, though humiliated at Serena’s place, refused to believe Serena didn’t care.
She was only pretending not to.
“Kyana, I’m getting married,” Amber announced the news to her friend.
Kyana was shocked. “Really? You’re getting married to Trevor already?”
Partly because that little brat had gone to her father and stirred trouble, trying to make it look like she was reconciling with Trevor Otherwise, her father wouldn’t have sided with her!
“Of course it’s real. Kyana, the wedding was arranged by Uncle Sebastian.”
Upon hearing that, Kyana’s eyes darkened.
That unattainable man…
If only she could marry into the Levine family too. But looking at the current situation, she feared it was impossible.
Still, Kyana didn’t give up. “Amber, have you decided on your bridesmaids? We’re buddies–you’ll pick me, right?”
Amber smiled gently. “Of course! Kyana, you’re definitely part of my bridesmaid squad.”
Only if Kyana showed up at the wedding could she properly put Serena in her place.
Why had Amber befriended Kyana? Because she did not get along with Serena, of course!
She figured that anyone who hated her enemy was automatically on her side.
After hanging up, Kyana immediately ran to tell Donald. “Dad! Didn’t you say that Serena’s trying to reconcile with Trevor? He’s actually getting married to Amber next month!”
Donald froze. “What? Who told you that? Are you sure it’s true?”
“Of course it is!” Kyana said proudly. “Amber just called me herself to tell me the good news. I’m going to be her bridesmaid too!”
