Chapter 412 Past Romance
Although Lucinda knew she shouldn’t laugh, she couldn’t help herself.
“Rena, to be honest, this is my first time seeing something like this, too.”
At the mention of Trevor, Serena suddenly thought of Blake.
“I wonder if my cousin has already gone back.”
Hearing her words, Lucinda blinked and asked, “Which cousin are you talking about?”
“The one I mentioned to you before. My grandfather’s whole family lives abroad, but my uncle came back recently. I ran into him a few days ago.
“I’m not sure why he came back this time, but he said he’ll be leaving again in a few days.”
When Sebastian woke up and saw the empty spot beside him, he rubbed his eyes and went looking for her.
As soon as he heard Serena mentioning her cousin, his eyes twitched slightly.
“Is Blake coming back again?”
Serena shot him an annoyed look, answering, “Why are you always picking on him, Sebastian? He said he’ll be leaving in a few days. It’s not like he asked you to accompany him.”
He pursed his lips together and replied, “I didn’t mean anything. It’s good that he’s back.”
“Hey, Lucinda, is your signal bad?” she asked, puzzled. “I couldn’t hear you talk.”
“No…” It took Lucinda quite a while to process everything.“Rena, what did you just say your cousin’s name was?”
‘Blake Murphy. He’s my second uncle’s son.”
As soon as Lucinda heard this, the hope she had been holding onto finally died down. She had never imagined that the man she had a crush on in her youth would turn out to be her best friend’s cousin.
Soon, Serena noticed something was off with her friend. “What’s wrong, Lucinda?”
Lucinda hesitated for a moment before asking, “Is Uncle Sebastian still beside you?”

“No,” Serena glanced back and saw the man had gone into the bathroom. “He went to the bathroom. He knows I’m on the phone with you, so he won’t interrupt us.”
Lucinda fell silent for a moment. “Rena… Your cousin is the guy I used to like. He was also my mom’s former stepson.”
In that split second, Serena froze. What? This is just getting complicated.
“Lucinda, you’re not joking, are you?”
Lucinda smiled bitterly and replied, “Do I look like someone who would joke about things like this?”

Blake is older than Lucinda, though, Serena thought “But how could you trave liked him? Blake has always been abroad.”
Lucinda sighed softly and replied, “He was in the country for a while back then.”
Lucinda couldn’t quite explain why she had faller for Blake. She had always liked older men, as boys her own age only seemed childish to her. Maybe it was also because she had grown up lacking fatherly love. Hence, she was instantly captivated by Blake when she first met him, as he was gentle.
Lucinda had racked her brains trying to create chances to see him, but she never managed to confess. Only when she finally gathered her courage did she discover that the son of the man her mother was going to remarry was the very person she had secretly loved for so long.
In the end, the secret crush came to nothing.
Did she feel regret? Yes, she did. However, Lucinda knew Blake didn’t like her. If he had, he wouldn’t have remained indifferent even after her feelings had been so obvious.
Even so, a small part of her had still resented her mother back then.
After hearing Lucinda’s story, Serena could only sigh and said, “It’s all in the past now, Lucinda.”
Lucinda let out a soft laugh and thought, Yeah, it’s all in the past.
“Lucinda, do you like Julian?”
Their marriage had been arranged–bound together because of the child. Lucinda couldn’t really say whether she liked Julian or not, but she admitted that she depended on him.
Julian had loved teasing her since they were young. Even though he was a few years older than her, he would still act childish at times.
“I don’t know, but he treats me very well–better than I ever expected. He dotes on Berry and spends more time taking care of her than I do.”
