Sebastian’s lips curled into a slight smile as he let out a low rumble of amusement. Calm down. Wait there. I’m coming to rescue you right now.

He deliberately emphasized the words rescue you.It was as if rescuing her meant she’d have to repay him.

Serena forced herself to stop her thoughts from going wild as she crouched behind the curtains, her eyes fixed on the only remaining bodyguard downstairs.

Perhaps Sebastian had made a noise when he crossed the boundary because the bodyguard who had been glancing up at her window from time to time suddenly broke into a jog toward the main gate.

Serena wasted no time seizing the moment as she yanked the window open. When she did, she instantly saw the man standing under the moonlight.

Sebastian tilted his head up and gave her a faint smile before stretching his arms apart. Will you jump?

Serena licked her dry lips. She would be making a twostory jump if she did.

Can you catch me?

Sebastian arched a brow at her question. Yes, I can.

Serena was still a little terrified. Regardless, she clenched her teeth, squeezed her eyes shut, and leapt straight into his open arms.

Seconds later, she felt herself being embraced by a line of solid heat. Soon, the lingering scent of sandalwood filled her breath.

She looked up in panic, but there was no hiding the joy in her voice as she chirped, Uncle Sebastian!

His long lashes cast a shadow against his cheekbones as his lips curved into a barelythere smile.

I caught you.

As Serena lifted her head, she couldn’t ignore that his presence seemed to wrap around her like a warm cocoon.

She could feel his hand resting against her lower back.

His palm felt scorching hot through the thin fabric.

She felt her heart flutter as she whispered, Uncle Sebastian, why are you here?

She didn’t notice that her cheeks were flushed crimson, nor did she notice some flyaway strands of hair clinging messily to her face.

Her bright eyes shone like stars under the night sky. The mischievous gleam only added to her charm.

His Adam’s apple bobbed slightly as the desire in the depths of his eyes flared, seemingly ready to turn the world to ash.

Before he could speak, they heard voices behind them.

Where did you go just now?

I thought I heard someone banging on the front gate, so I went to check things out. Turns out it was just some stray cat being a pain.

The other person urged, Alright, let’s hurry back. We can’t muck this job up.

When she heard their footsteps drawing closer, she instinctively grabbed Sebastian’s hand from her waist, turned, and ran toward the back door.

Uncle Sebastian, run!

Her pink skirt fluttered gracefully in the breeze.

Sebastian’s tall, elegant figure followed behind her unhurriedly, matching her pace as they headed to the back entrance.

The back door was locked from the inside with a key.

Serena frowned as she turned her attention to the wall. She looked troubled as she suggested hesitantly, Uncle Sebastian, what do you think about throwing me over the wall?

Sebastian calmly crouched down and patted his shoulder. Come on. Get up.

Serena bit her lip. Don’t you think it’s inappropriate?

After all, he was technically her client.

Before she could consider other options, she heard the bodyguardshurried footsteps. She immediately tossed her hesitance aside and stepped onto his shoulder, using him as a steppingstone to climb up the wall.

Then, Sebastian braced one hand on the edge and flipped himself over with ease.

Once he was outside the villa, he opened his arms to her again. Jump.

Serena didn’t hesitate this time around, feeling a rush of exhilaration surging through her when she jumped.

She was in a terrible predicament right now. Yet, she couldn’t stop herself from enjoying the thrill shooting up her spine.

Sebastian had an arm around her waist as he urged, Come on. Get in the car.

The black Maybach was parked by the roadside.

As a result, the bodyguards were greeted by the sight of the car disappearing into the distance when they rushed out.

Serena patted her chest before saying, Uncle Sebastian, thank you for saving me today.
