Amara and Keith walked to the side of the venue. Seeing no one around, Keith comforted her, “Finnian was never any good. Him getting with Liliana is just two bad apples in one basket, so don't be upset.”
But Amara shook her head. “I'm not just upset because of Finnian.”
In fact, she had been in a foul mood since the previous night when the housekeeper sent her that photo of Fiona wearing her mother's ring. Liliana’s words just now had only added fuel to the fire.
Keith was a little surprised. “What are you unhappy about?”
Amara glanced at him. As it turned out, it had something to do with Keith.
After a long night of deliberation, she had finally made up her mind to ask Keith if he would be willing to enter a sham marriage with her.
Since she was seeing him at the press conference today, she planned to bring it up, but the words were proving hard to get out.
Seeing her hesitant look, Keith's curiosity got the better of him. “What is it? Are you in some kind of trouble? Tell me, and I'll help you solve it.”
This was, in fact, something she needed Keith's help to solve. Amara bit her lip, finally steeling herself. “Well, it’s like this…”
She first explained how Larry had promised to give her the majority shares of the Sullivan Group if she got married, then she simply looked at Keith, saying nothing.
Keith listened intently to Amara.
Larry had actually said he’d give Amara the majority shares of the Sullivan Group just for getting married? It sounded strange, but coming from Larry, it wasn't surprising.
Larry might be a scumbag, but he placed an unusually high value on family stability.
Amara was currently divorced, which in Larry's eyes was a highly undignified situation. Demanding that she remarry was perfectly in line with Larry’s character.
Keith struggled to suppress the grin spreading across his face. “Don't worry, I can definitely help you with a small favor like this.”
“Coincidentally, my family has been nagging me to get married lately. I'll just tell them I've married you. It’s a good way to get them off my back.”
A small smile touched Amara's lips. She knew Keith was just saying that to make her feel better. In reality, he was the one helping her.
Keith’s eyes sparkled. To keep Amara from noticing his excitement, he pulled her into a hug and patted her back.
“Don't worry, I'll help you raise the baby in your belly too. I'll tell everyone it's mine. If you want the baby to have my last name, that's fine. If you want it to have yours, that works too.”
Right, the baby in her belly…
Amara hesitated.
