Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 526

Lisa was also stunned, murmuring, “I guessed Mr. Everly would have a strong reaction when I saw the news, but I didn't expect this. I hope nothing happens to Ms. Sullivan.”

Amara was shoved into a car parked by the road, and she was absolutely furious.

That bastard Finnian had hoisted her up and walked off without a word, refusing to put her down no matter how much she hit and yelled at him on the way. What on earth was he trying to do?

“Why are you marrying Keith?”

Finnian cornered Amara in the car, his hands braced on either side of her. His red eyes stared into hers as he demanded an answer, word by word.

The aura around him was incredibly violent, like a raging storm at sea. Amara, who had been furious, now felt a flicker of fear.

Then she remembered she had done nothing wrong. Finnian had dragged her away for no reason and was now interrogating her!

Finnian was the one at fault. She had no reason to be afraid or feel guilty. She said defiantly, “I wanted to marry him, so I did. Does there need to be a reason?”

Finnian gripped Amara's chin, his nose just a centimeter from hers. He looked directly into her eyes. “Do you love him?”

In the cramped car, a slight, undisguisable tremor laced Finnian’s voice, and Amara’s heart seemed to tremble along with it.

She pressed her palms against the leather of the back seat and gritted her teeth. “Yes, I love him. So what?”

Since the news of her marriage to Keith was already public, admitting she loved him was perfectly reasonable. She said it with conviction.

Finnian’s body shuddered. He stared at her for several seconds before asking, “Does he know about the baby? Does he not mind?”

Every time Finnian mentioned the baby, Amara’s heart trembled, because the child was his.

But she couldn't let that show. She lowered her head and said, “He doesn't mind.”

A silent scream tore through Finnian's mind. He could not mind, either. He could have willingly helped her raise the child, but it was too late.

She quickly wiped her eyes and ran back to her room. Finally, she closed the door and allowed herself to cry.

What was she crying for? Her feelings?

She undoubtedly loved Finnian, yet he was going to marry Liliana, all while acting like he still loved her…

Amara wiped her eyes and looked up with new determination. She couldn't let things like this upset her anymore.

She had shed enough tears for Finnian. That had to stop.

She needed to be strong, fight for the assets that belonged to her, protect the baby in her womb, and build her career. Those were the things that mattered most to her now.

Amara went to the bathroom and washed her face. Once she had calmed down, she went to Mr. Kevin Everly's room to let him know she was okay, then returned to wash up and get ready for bed.
