Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 531

Amara gave Elowen a sidelong glance. The girl was truly clueless, with no sense of what was appropriate.

When she used to serve Finnian food, it might have seemed a bit forward, but she was the host and Finnian was the guest. There was nothing inherently wrong with a host using serving utensils to place a couple of dishes on a guest's plate.

But peeling shrimp was different. It was an intimate gesture. Eating shrimp that someone had peeled with their bare hands was something reserved for people who were very close.

For Elowen to do this for Finnian made her look servile, and from Finnian's perspective, why would he eat shrimp peeled by a strange woman?

It was presumptuous and unhygienic, so his anger was completely justified.

Fiona was well aware of this and stomped hard on Elowen's foot under the table.

Honestly, how could a sharp and sophisticated woman like her have given birth to such an idiot?

But Elowen was dense to the core. She shot Fiona a wounded look, seemingly confused as to why her doting mother was suddenly upset, which nearly made Fiona faint from frustration.

"Alright, let's just eat."

Larry was also displeased that his foolish daughter was embarrassing herself in front of Finnian, and his face darkened.

Fiona immediately forced a smile and said, "Yes, Finn, eat up. Make yourself at home here. Have whatever you like."

"Amara, you should take good care of Keith, too. You'll all be family soon."

Family? Finnian shot Fiona a cold look before lowering his gaze, his fists tightening under the table.

Amara seemed oblivious to Finnian's reaction. She picked up her serving utensils and put a few dishes on Keith's plate, telling him to eat more.

Fiona herself had risen from being the other woman, so she believed that not having a formal title at first wasn't a problem. If you didn't have it now, you could always get it later.

Amara had always wondered why Fiona, being as shrewd as she was, would let Elowen pursue Finnian when she had no chance of marrying into the Everly family.

She never would have guessed that the mother-daughter duo wasn't aiming for the position of his wife at all. Their minds were only focused on devious schemes.

The dinner finally ended without further incident. Amara and Keith sat in the living room for a while before a servant came to tell Amara that Larry wanted to see her in his study. Amara got up and went.

Behind a large desk, Larry was looking at some documents. When Amara entered and called out, "Dad," he nodded and beckoned her over. "Come here."

Amara walked to his side. Larry opened a file and pointed to a line of text. "As we discussed, after you get married, I'll give you fifty-one percent of the shares, and Elowen will get six percent."
