Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 536

Amara had anticipated that Morgan might ask her about this and presented the excuse she had prepared in advance.

"Keith and I started dating a few months ago, but I felt his career as a celebrity was too unstable, so I didn't want to go public."

"But he gave me a very convincing promise these past couple of days, and I gained the confidence to be with him, so I accepted his proposal."

After finishing, Amara said sincerely, "Mr. Bishop, my actions were deceptive, and I am truly sorry."

Amara's explanation was plausible, but for some reason, Morgan still felt something was off.

He gave a self-deprecating smile. "You don't need to apologize to me. It's perfectly normal for a woman to want a partner with a stable career. I understand your reasoning. It's just a shame. I quite liked you."

Amara could indeed sense that Morgan was interested in her. If she had known, she should have refused Mr. Kevin Everly from the start. What happened between her and Morgan was her fault, and she felt genuinely guilty.

Just as she was about to speak, Morgan said, "You don't need to feel guilty. Liking you was my choice, and you don't have to be responsible for it. But can we still be friends?"

"Of course," Amara smiled. "Mr. Bishop, you're an exceptional person. It would be my honor to be your friend."

Morgan stood up and shook her hand, smiling. "Don't forget to invite me to the wedding. And if Keith ever gives you trouble, you can call me. I'll go settle the score for you."

Amara laughed and agreed.

But just as they were about to make a decision, they saw two exquisitely dressed women walking toward them, arm in arm. It was Emma and Liliana.

Emma was wearing an off-white suit with a fur coat, while Liliana wore a bright red dress with a matching wool coat. They were laughing and talking, holding hands as if they were mother and daughter.

Even though it was a fake marriage, the feeling of getting things settled was quite nice.

Amara had been in a good mood, but the sight of these two immediately soured it. She whispered, "Let's go."

Keith saw them too and rolled his eyes. "Yeah, let's go. What bad luck."
