Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 547

He had learned how to make all of Amara's favorite dishes. Then he would serve two bowls of rice and eat alone in silence, imagining that he was having a meal with her. He had never told anyone about this.

Seeing the light in Finnian's eyes dim, Amara suddenly felt that the man in front of her was deeply sad.

And once she had that feeling, she started to feel sad herself.

She lowered her head, biting her lip, not knowing what to say.

The two of them stood facing each other in silence. Elysia quietly approached, frowning at the pair, unsure of what to do.

"Stop staring. There's still work to be done."

Dorian pulled Elysia away. She immediately shook off his hand and shot him a glare. "Don't touch me."

She couldn't even stand physical contact with Dorian anymore and had even started sleeping in a separate room at night.

Dorian's lips trembled with anger. He wanted to say something, but with guests in the house, he forced himself to hold back his temper.

Later that evening, Finnian was working in his office when Liliana arrived.

She placed the pastries she had brought on his desk, opened the box, and offered it to him. "Finn, Mrs. Emma Everly and I have booked the venue for the wedding. It's the Star Hotel. What do you think?"

Finnian glanced at the pastries on the desk but didn't look at Liliana. "Whatever you like is fine."

Liliana bit her lip.

Finnian had offered almost no opinions throughout the entire wedding planning process. He wouldn't even go with them to pick things out. He really didn't care about her at all.

Suddenly, she saw Hogan walking toward her. He also saw Liliana and stopped. "What are you doing here?" he asked.

Liliana frowned inwardly but kept a smile on her face. "I was just discussing the wedding with your brother. Do you need to see him?"

Right, they were getting married soon. It was perfectly normal for Liliana to be in Finnian's office. Hogan's expression soured.

Hogan looked her up and down. He and Liliana hadn't been in touch much recently, and after everything that had happened, they could hardly be considered friends anymore. So, he said bluntly, "I don't think my brother will be happy with you."

The smile on Liliana's lips vanished instantly.

She never thought that she and Hogan would end up like this, with him now clearly hostile towards her.

Her eyes darted around for a moment before she slightly lifted the fabric of her dress, revealing the corner of a hideous scar. "This is the scar I got when I saved your brother's life."
