Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 555

The view was much clearer than what she'd seen in the car. Thrilled, Amara immediately took out her phone, aimed the camera at the peephole, and snapped a series of photos and short videos. Satisfied, she pulled back.

"Seen enough?"

It was rare to see this lively side of Amara, and Finnian couldn't help but smile fondly.

He even had the urge to reach out and pat her head, but he held back, afraid she would get angry.

"I've seen enough," Amara said.

Her goal was to get high-definition proof of Fiona's affair. As for the more eye-straining scenes, she'd rather not watch. They were the stuff of nightmares.

"Since you've seen enough, let's go back. It's getting late," Finnian said.

Amara nodded, and Finnian drove her back to the Everly estate.

After having a glass of water in the living room, Finnian led Amara to the study and pulled out a file Will had delivered a couple of hours earlier. "I found something. Fiona and Andrew dated years ago, probably over twenty years back."

"They were together for about six months and then broke up over some issue. It looks like they're rekindling an old flame now."

Amara flipped through the file, a look of understanding on her face. So they had a history. That explained how two people who seemed to have no connection had gotten together.

Finnian continued, "Recently, Larry and Fiona's marriage has been strained, for two reasons. First, Larry suspected Fiona was in contact with an ex-boyfriend, though he didn't know who it was and couldn't find any real proof. Still, the suspicion has made him grow distant."

Amara flinched back as if she'd been burned. *What is he doing? Why is he suddenly touching me...?*

Realizing what he'd done, Finnian immediately pulled his hand back. "My apologies," he murmured, then gestured to the file in her hands. "What do you plan to do?"

Amara clutched the file. "Thank you," she said. "I think I'll hold onto this evidence for now and decide later."

Looked at this way, the reason Larry was giving her the majority shares became clear.

But he had stipulated she would only get them after she married, and Keith's parents currently disapproved of their union. The wedding was still up in the air, so Amara decided it was best to keep Fiona's affair under wraps and see how things played out.
