It took her more than ten seconds to fully process what she’d just heard. Suddenly, she slammed her hand down on the armrest of the sofa. “He already knew that little tramp was pregnant—and the baby isn’t even his! So why does he keep chasing after her? How could he do something like this?”
The news had caught Emma so off-guard that she was momentarily speechless.
Liliana’s face was equally dark, and she, too, had no idea what to do.
Emma got up from the sofa, her tone heavy. “I’ll take care of this. You stay out of it.”
She called the massage therapists out, dismissed them all, then changed her clothes and left the house.
Emma’s first stop was the Everly family home. She wanted to pull Finnian aside for a talk, but the housekeeper told her that Finnian had left ten minutes earlier—most likely for the office. So, Emma headed straight to the company.
She banged on the chairman’s office door, then strode inside. “Finnian, you’ve known all along that Amara is pregnant, haven’t you?”
Finnian looked up at her.
Since Liliana had already learned from him that he knew about Amara’s pregnancy, it was no surprise that Emma had found out too.
He nodded. “Yes. So what?”
So what? How could he be so nonchalant? Emma was furious.
If she hadn’t been a little afraid of her son deep down, she would’ve smashed up his office right then and there.
“How could you!” she shouted. “Amara is carrying some other man’s child, and you’re still hopelessly devoted to her? Don’t you have any self-respect?”
“Watch your words.”
Emma bit her lower lip so hard she drew blood. She shot Finnian a venomous glare, then stormed out of Everly Group headquarters.
What was really going on? Why would Finnian remain so loyal to Amara, even knowing she was carrying another man’s child? It just didn’t make sense.
Even after leaving, Emma still couldn’t figure it out—and the more she thought, the angrier she got.
It just seemed so unfair: Finnian was both her and Andrew’s son, yet she was the only one worrying about him. The thought infuriated her, so she headed straight for Andrew’s apartment.
Bang, bang, bang!
Emma knocked hard on Andrew’s door. When he answered, he was wearing only a pair of pants, his upper body bare and marked with fresh lipstick stains—clearly from today. Instantly, Emma’s anger flared even hotter.
