But as far as she knew, Elysia and Dorian hadn’t been intimate for almost two months now, and Elysia had barely spoken to Dorian during that time. Could it be that this child wasn’t...
Sensing her thoughts, Elysia immediately said, “It’s Dorian’s child. Don’t overthink it.”
Amara breathed a sigh of relief.
After all, Elysia and Dorian were still married. If Elysia were pregnant with someone else’s child, things could get really complicated.
Elysia explained, “A few days ago when I went to the doctor, he told me I was about fifty days pregnant. My periods have always been irregular—sometimes once every two months, sometimes twice in one month—so when it didn’t come this time, I didn’t pay much attention.”
“But lately, I’ve been throwing up everything I eat. I knew something was off, so I went to get checked. I didn’t expect that I’d actually be pregnant.”
A faintly sarcastic smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.
“Who would’ve thought that our relationship would fall apart, and then this would happen? I wanted to tell you a few days ago, but you were having your own problems, so I didn’t say anything right away.”
Elysia kept that ironic little smile as she spoke, but suddenly, tears welled up and spilled over.
Amara quickly put her arm around Elysia’s shoulders. “Ely, don’t cry. What are you going to do now? Do you want to keep the baby?”
Elysia had never been particularly fond of children, but she wasn’t exactly against having them, either.
If her marriage with Dorian were normal, she would have definitely kept the baby. But now that their relationship was on the verge of breaking down, would she still want to?
Elysia bit her lip, stopped crying, and looked up. “Ama, I haven’t told you this, but Dorian has actually been really attentive to me lately.”

“I actually thought he’d stopped seeing Jessica, but it turns out they’re still meeting secretly.”

“And Dorian sometimes deletes their chat history. I used to check his phone, but never found anything. Then, one time, he didn’t get the chance to delete it—and I saw everything.”
“My hands were shaking when I read those messages. I immediately took photos with my phone… This was just a short while ago.”
“Ama, can you even imagine how awful I felt?”
Amara looked at the screenshots. Even though Dorian didn’t say anything blatantly out of line, his concern for Jessica was obvious. Amara was so angry, her own hands started to tremble.
