She really thought so. In her eyes, Amara was an especially quiet and reserved person; being around someone like that had to be dreadfully boring. Why on earth would Keith and Finnian be interested in someone like her?
Elowen frowned and said, “At the time, my father said he would give Amara the majority share of the family business if she got married, and then Amara was suddenly about to marry Keith.”
“Even though it later turned out she and Keith had already been dating, I still feel the timing was just too convenient. Sometimes I wonder, were they actually together at all?”
Elowen wasn’t clueless all the time—at this moment, she was actually thinking things through.
Amelia remarked with a sly tone, “Maybe it was all a sham. If that’s the case, things could get interesting. I’ll look into it.”
“All right, I’ll wait for your news,” Elowen replied.
After a few more words with Amelia, Elowen ended the call.
After leaving the Sullivan family home, Amara returned to the Everly house. As soon as she walked in, she saw Mr. Kevin Everly, dressed smartly and being helped toward the door by Lisa.
She asked curiously, “Grandpa, where are you headed?”
Mr. Kevin Everly didn’t look happy at all, which was odd for someone going out.
“I’m going to visit your grandmother’s grave,” he sighed. “I suddenly started missing her.”
So he was going to pay respects to Mrs. Grace Everly—no wonder he seemed sad.
Amara thought for a moment and said, “Grandpa, let me go with you.”
She wanted to spend more time with Mr. Everly when he was feeling down, hoping to cheer him up.
