Amara wasn’t particularly surprised that they weren’t live-streaming the wedding.
The Everly family may be among the wealthiest in Zephyria, but they’ve always preferred to keep a low profile. It made sense they wouldn’t want their ceremony broadcast to the world.
Elysia scoffed, “They just had to make a big deal out of not live-streaming, as if anyone would actually want to watch her wedding.”
Seeing Elysia slipping back into her usual sarcasm regarding Liliana was a sign her mood was improving, which put Amara at ease.
Just then, Amara received a text from Liliana: “Do you have time now? Would you like to meet up?”
Amara was a bit surprised—what could Liliana possibly want with her?
Elysia, sitting right beside her, saw the message too and suggested, “Why don’t you go see what she wants?”
Amara was curious herself, so she nodded, replied to Liliana, and they arranged to meet at a coffee shop in half an hour.
Amara and Elysia browsed a few shops nearby before heading to the café Liliana had chosen.
When Elysia arrived with Amara, Liliana didn’t seem bothered. She smiled and said, “I’ve already ordered coffee. Ms. Sullivan, since you’re expecting, I got you some milk. I hope you don’t mind?”
Amara assured her it was fine and got straight to the point. “So, what did you want to talk about?”
Liliana reached into her bag and pulled out a wedding invitation, placing it in front of Amara. “Ms. Sullivan, Finn and I are getting married soon. I sincerely invite you to our wedding. I hope you’ll join us to witness our happiness.”
Before Amara could respond, Elysia let out a cold laugh, though she didn’t say anything further.
