Amara was genuinely delighted to see that Keith truly wasn’t planning to leave the industry.

Truth be told, meeting Keith today was a little awkward for her, especially since he had confessed his feelings to her the last time they saw each other. But upon hearing this good news, the awkwardness between them eased considerably.

Soon, the food arrived. Keith served Amara a helping of vegetables first, then asked, “By the way, what’s going on with your family’s shares? Did Larry really say you’d have to get rid of the baby to get them? What are you thinking?”

At the mention of this, Amara let out a heavy sigh.

“I honestly don’t know what to do. I’ve been worried sick these past few days,” she said. “I’m really attached to this baby. Even though it’s not even born yet, I was so happy when I first found out. I’ve been looking forward to meeting them. But now…”

Keith had always been the friend she could talk to about anything, so she confided her troubles in him, and he, too, was at a loss, anxious for her.

For Amara, getting the Sullivan family shares was something she absolutely had to do. If she didn’t, those shares would end up with Fiona and Elowen—her sworn enemies. Amara could never let that happen.

But the baby she was carrying was something she desperately wanted as well. It was a true dilemma, and Keith couldn’t think of any words to comfort her.

As they sat there, deep in thought, Amara suddenly caught sight of a fleeting shadow outside the window—something about it felt off.

She immediately looked up and said, “Keith, I think someone’s following us.”

Keith turned to glance out the window. “Someone’s following us?”

Amara frowned. “It’s just a feeling, but I saw someone move past the window just now. And I feel like they’ve been watching us for a while.”

Afterwards, back at WestWinter Group, Keith was still preoccupied with what had happened. He went straight to Edith’s office and, frowning, asked, “Mom, did you have someone following me?”

Edith looked up from her folder, surprised. “Why would I have someone follow you? Why are you asking me this out of nowhere?”

Then something occurred to her. “Did you do something you shouldn’t have? Where were you just now?”

Edith was quick-witted. After just a few seconds, she pieced it together and slammed her hand on the desk. “You went to see Amara again, didn’t you?”

Keith didn’t bother denying it. He replied coolly, “Yes, I went to see Amara. So what?”

His blunt admission made Edith furious.
