If he and Liliana had really never been together, then was everything just as Hogan had said? Was it Amara who saved him that night, and was it Amara who was with him?
And now, was the child Amara was carrying also his... did that mean he and Amara were having a child together?
Finnian stared at Liliana, his eyes unsettlingly calm—so calm it was almost frightening. Then, without a word, he turned and walked away in long strides.
“Finn, where are you going?”
Liliana hurried after him, grabbing his sleeve, her eyes filling with tears.
“Today is our wedding day! Don’t you want to marry me anymore?”
Liliana had no idea that it was Amara who had saved Finnian. She thought that Finnian had simply learned the truth and now didn’t want anything to do with her, so she desperately tried to stop him from leaving.
But Finnian had already learned the truth: it was Amara who had rescued him, not Liliana. So how could he possibly still want to marry Liliana?
He ignored her completely and headed straight for the hotel entrance.
At this moment, his mind was filled with nothing but Amara—he needed to see her right away.
“Finn, what’s happened? Why are you leaving?”
Mr. Kevin Everly came rushing over, leaning on his cane with obvious urgency.
Blocked by his grandfather, Finnian came to a halt.
He could avoid explaining himself to anyone else, but to his grandfather he owed at least a brief explanation.
“Grandpa, the child Amara is carrying is mine,” he said quietly. “I only just found out.”
