Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 722

She lay on the bed, quietly gazing out of the window. She was a woman of remarkable willpower—she would never allow herself to be crushed by this. Still, what should she do now?

Just then, her phone rang. Seeing Emma’s name on the caller ID, she felt a flicker of surprise mixed with unease. Should she answer Emma’s call?

After leaving Liliana’s apartment, Finnian returned home. As soon as he walked in, Mr. Kevin Everly greeted him immediately. “Finn, so the child Amara is carrying really is yours—Hogan has told me everything.”

He gave a heavy sigh. “How did things ever get this complicated? It’s that Liliana woman’s fault. I knew that actress was trouble from the start…”

Listening to Mr. Kevin Everly berate Liliana now, Finnian felt nothing.

His eyes fell, a familiar ache slowly creeping into his chest.

If Liliana hadn’t intervened back then, he would already be living a wonderful life with Amara… They would have a child together. He would be lost in the joy of becoming a father, making special meals for Amara during her pregnancy, taking her to all her doctor’s appointments, holding her in his arms as they dreamed about their future together…

He forced himself to stop. It was just too painful to think about.

Raising his head, Finnian said, “Since you already know, there’s really nothing more for me to add. The child Amara is carrying is indeed mine. The wedding with Liliana is off. I’ve already sent Will Zade to inform everyone personally.”

The wedding had already been announced, and friends and relatives of the Everly family had rearranged their schedules—some even traveling a long way—to attend.

Now, with the wedding suddenly called off, Finnian felt he owed everyone an explanation. So he had Will prepare gifts and go door-to-door to apologize in person.

He soon found Tina outside her room, standing nervously with her head down in the hallway. Tina was a timid and reserved girl to begin with; after all that had happened lately, she couldn’t help but feel anxious being sought out by Finnian alone.

Finnian stopped about four feet away and said, “I have some questions for you. Don’t be afraid. How did you come to know about what happened between me and Amara?”

Tina looked down at her toes and replied, “You mean what happened four months ago, sir? That day, you came home in a confused state. I saw you drag Ms. Sullivan into your room with my own eyes. About an hour later, Ms. Sullivan came out—her clothes were all messy—and then Ms. Porter went in.”

“Later, you and Ms. Porter came out together. When I heard that Ms. Porter was pregnant, I did the math and realized that if it was your child, it must have been conceived that day. But the person you brought into your room was clearly Ms. Sullivan…”

“So I realized Ms. Porter had taken credit for what Ms. Sullivan did. It seemed so unfair to Ms. Sullivan, and I wanted everyone to know the truth, but I had no proof—so I didn’t dare say anything.”
