Her husband had never liked her—not even a little. He had only married her because of pressure from his family, and once they tied the knot, he found she truly was every bit as conniving as the rumors claimed. That only made him want to have less and less to do with her.
Lately, Amelia had been feeling quite stifled.
That day, after yet another full day stuck at home, Elowen sent Amelia a message: “I am so bored, I think I might start growing mold! I’m going to go crazy because of Amara!”
“If Amara were standing in front of me right now, I might just stab her. I honestly want to kill her, aargh!”
After receiving the message, Amelia sent back a voice note, her tone sharp with frustration: “What does Amara have besides her face? Why does everyone like her, and treat her so well?”
“Even Mr. Kevin Everly has fallen under her spell! He actually acknowledged her as his god-granddaughter in front of everyone. I can't stand her! I wish I could take her down myself! We have to figure something out or I’ll never be satisfied!”
“So what can we do?” Elowen replied immediately. “Neither of us can even leave the house, while Amara gets to strut around wherever she wants every day. I tried pleading with my father again today, but he completely ignored me. What am I supposed to do?”
Elowen sent a string of crying emojis, showing just how upset she was.
Amelia replied, “Are you clueless? Sure, we’re stuck inside, but that doesn’t mean nobody else can do things for us.”
“We still have money to spend. Let me handle this—just wait and see.”
Elowen knew Amelia was smarter than she was, so she didn’t hesitate to hand the matter over. “Alright, you take care of it. If you need more money, let me know—I can contribute too…”
Later that day, Amara received a call from Mr. Frost, asking to meet her at the set.
