Dorian's eyes were red, whether from anger or from having cried recently—it was impossible to say.
No one could have guessed just how excited and happy he was earlier that morning when he found out Elysia was pregnant. The news came so unexpectedly; he was going to be a father...
But carried along on this wave of excitement, eager to share the moment, he hurried over to see Elysia—only to be met with her cold, distant expression.
Elysia actually told him the child she was carrying had nothing to do with him. That they were connected only by blood, that there wouldn’t be any kind of official relationship between them because they were about to get a divorce! She even went so far as to say the child was hers alone and he had nothing to do with it, telling him to stay away for good! When he heard those words, he was so angry he nearly exploded.
He looked at Elysia and repeated, “I don’t agree to the divorce. You’re coming home with me—now. If you don’t, don’t think I won’t just tie you up and take you back myself. Try me and see if I won’t do it!”
That made not just Elysia, but even Amara bristle with anger.
Amara stepped forward and said sharply, “What gives you the right to drag Ely off like that? She’s her own person. She has the freedom to be with whoever she chooses, and she doesn’t want you anymore. You have no right to treat her this way!”
Dorian shot a glance at Amara’s belly, a mocking smile on his lips. “You’d better worry about yourself instead of meddling in Elysia’s business. At this point, you can barely take care of your own mess.”
...What did he mean—barely take care of her own mess?
Amara instinctively covered her belly, a certain man’s name flashing through her mind, her annoyance with Dorian only deepening.
Ignoring both of them, Dorian turned his attention to his phone, sending Finnian his location with a brief text: “301, Entrance 1. Come get your woman.”
Once that was done, he settled himself casually back on the sofa as if he owned the place, looking entirely at ease.
Elysia went over and tugged at his arm. “Leave. Get out of my apartment, right now—”
But Dorian seized the chance to grab her hand and pull her directly into his arms, holding her tightly around the waist.
