Amara looked up at her.

The moment she heard Liliana say she wanted to win Finnian back, her heart gave an inexplicable flutter.

Then, she asked, "A few days ago, I received some photos of you and Finnian embracing in a hospital room. Did you send those to me?"

Those photos were still saved on Amara's phone. She looked at them from time to time as a reminder of Finnian's true colors, to prevent herself from falling for him again.

In the photos, Liliana was gripping Finnian's arm, her head resting on his shoulder. He wasn't holding her, but it looked as if he was steadying her by her arm. Strictly speaking, it wasn't an embrace.

But what did it matter if it wasn't a full embrace? The pose was still incredibly intimate, the kind of closeness reserved for lovers, not friends or family.

Liliana nodded freely. "Yes, I sent them. I wasn't feeling well that day, so I texted Finn to see if he would come visit me. And he did."

A smile bloomed on Liliana's face.

"I thought after everything I did was exposed, Finn would despise me and wouldn't care if I was sick."

"But it turns out, when I'm not feeling well, one call is all it takes to bring him to my side. And he seemed really busy that day, too. He even postponed a meeting to come see me…"

Liliana watched Amara intently, trying to catch any flicker of emotion on her face, but Amara's expression remained perfectly serene, as if she didn't care about Finnian at all. Was she truly indifferent, or was she just a very good actress?

Liliana's mind raced. She remembered that Amara was supposedly interested in Keith now, who was also an exceptional man.
