Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 818

He closed the gap, wrapping an arm around her waist while his other hand settled possessively over the slight curve of her stomach. "You are carrying my child," he rasped, his eyes dark. "How exactly am I supposed to let you go?"

"I don't want you to leave. I want you. I want you to stay."

That desperate confession only poured gasoline on her fury. Who did he even want? Her, or Liliana? He was an absolute bastard. Amara thrashed against him, shoving at his chest. "Don't touch me! Get away from me!"

Her violent rejection momentarily stunned him, quickly followed by a blinding wave of jealousy and rage. Why was she fighting him so hard? Did she really find his touch that repulsive? Would she push Keith away like this?

The memory of Keith casually slinging an arm over her shoulder while they laughed together slammed into him, igniting a fiery, suffocating pain in his chest.

"You're carrying my baby, and you are going to be my wife. Why can't I touch you?" he demanded, his voice dropping to a dangerous rumble. "I don't just want to touch you. I want to taste you..."

The sheer arrogance of it left Amara speechless. Her eyes widened in shock. "Excuse me?" How had he become such a shameless brute?

Finnian didn't waste breath explaining. Holding her gaze for a split second, he pulled her flush against his body, caught her jaw in his hand, and crashed his lips down on hers.

A violent shudder ran through him the moment he felt the softness of her mouth. How long had it been since he had taken her like this? It felt like a lifetime. He had almost forgotten how intoxicating she tasted.

It was meant to be a reckless, punishing kiss born out of pure frustration, but the moment he tasted her, a switch flipped. He was instantly addicted, craving the scent of their passion, completely unable to pull away.

He crushed her against his chest, swallowing her gasps in a deep, greedy, and unapologetically dominant kiss.

They stood chest to chest, Amara trembling as she gasped for air. Her lips were swollen and thoroughly kissed, her eyes brimming with unshed tears—a sight that was agonizingly seductive.

"You cross every single line, Finnian!" she choked out, her voice trembling with betrayal. "How could you do this to me..."

Seeing her so thoroughly broken immediately drained the fury from his veins, leaving nothing but a crushing tide of regret. "I'm sorry," he whispered roughly. "I lost control..."

He took a desperate step forward to pull her into his arms, but Amara swung her hand again, delivering a second blistering slap squarely to the other side of his jaw.

She had put her entire body weight behind it, leaving his skin burning. But he didn't care. If it gave her peace, he'd let her hit him a hundred times over.
