“Plus, once you get those shares, you'll have the power to fight back against Fiona and Elowen. Don't forget what they did to you.”
“When your mother was in labor with you, she had complications. She desperately wanted to see Larry, but Fiona stopped him from going back to her.”
“And Elowen scarred your face when you were ten, subjecting you to years of humiliation and bullying. They crossed every line—you have to make them pay.”
Amara knew everything Elysia was saying. But there was one thing Elysia didn't know: Finnian had set his sights on her baby.
After hearing Finnian's words yesterday, Amara was consumed with anxiety.
If she actually gave birth to this child and he came to take it away, would she even be able to protect her baby?
Finnian was powerful and ruthless. She couldn't fight him, which meant keeping the baby would only bring a tidal wave of trouble for both of them.
A wave of exhaustion washed over her. She looked up and sighed. “Ely, I get what you're saying. I really need to think about this.”
She had wanted this baby for so long; it wasn't something she could just throw away easily. Elysia nodded in understanding. “Take your time and think it through.”
After falling from the stunt harness, Liliana had suffered a deep gash across her torso from a rock. It was a severe injury that required at least half a month of recovery, keeping her confined to the hospital.
Lying in her hospital gown, she could still feel the dull throb of pain despite the medication.
The painkillers only lasted a few hours and she was strictly limited on dosages, meaning she had to endure the agony for the rest of the day after waking up.
He had fully intended to refuse, but hearing that the fall had triggered the permanent injury left him no choice. After all, he was the one responsible for that old wound.
“I'm on my way,” he said flatly.
Finnian arrived at the hospital shortly after. He stepped into the room, glancing at Liliana on the bed before turning to the doctor to ask about her condition.
Listening quietly, Liliana reached out and tugged gently at Finnian's sleeve. “I'm a little scared,” she murmured. “I heard this surgery is really painful.”
Finnian smoothly detached her hand from his sleeve. “It's under general anesthesia. You won't feel a thing. Don't worry about it.”
