"It wasn't that he didn't care at all emotionally, but it seemed to stem entirely from a sense of obligation. There was no actual love there. Liliana couldn't take it anymore, so they broke up."

Nora paused, taking a sip of water before continuing. "They got back together recently because of the baby. As outsiders, you might not see it, but working alongside Liliana every day, I can clearly sense Finnian's true feelings toward her."

"It's no exaggeration to say that Finnian only feels a sense of responsibility toward Liliana. He doesn't like her at all."

"Liliana, on the other hand, is quite obsessed with him. She doesn't just want the man himself; she's particularly infatuated with his power and status."

Nora fell silent for a moment before adding, "I'm not mocking girls from humble beginnings. I come from the bottom myself, and a person's background doesn't define them."

"But Liliana has always viewed her origins as a mark of shame. Over the years, she has done everything in her power to climb the social ladder. She wants to be above everyone else."

Nora seemed ordinary, but she was actually a clever girl with high emotional intelligence and keen observation skills.

Having spent so much time with Liliana, she had completely seen through the woman. Since it wasn't a secret anyway, she simply vented her frustrations.

Moreover, Nora was excellent at reading the room. Realizing the conversation was getting too deep and the rest wasn't appropriate to share, she stopped herself.

But now that the misunderstanding was cleared up and they knew Finnian only treated Liliana well out of gratitude, Elysia felt he wasn't that terrible of a guy after all.

At the very least, compared to an irredeemable jerk like Dorian, Finnian was worth a shot. After all, Jessica had never saved Dorian's life, yet Dorian still treated her incredibly well.

Liliana, however, had genuinely saved Finnian's life, making his good treatment of her entirely understandable.
