Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 880

She had fallen for someone new—Keith. That was why she didn't love him anymore.

Finnian took a step forward, a dark, ominous gleam flickering in his eyes. Beneath it lay a profound sorrow, but cloaked by the night, all Amara registered was a predatory gaze.

"You still like Keith, don't you?" he demanded, biting out every syllable.

Amara kept her gaze glued to the ground, refusing to meet his eyes. "You've already asked me that a million times," she replied.

What did she mean by that? Was her answer still yes? Did she really still have feelings for Keith?

An indescribable wave of fury and agony flooded Finnian's chest. "You really do love Keith," he gritted out. "Ama, you truly don't care about me at all anymore."

Hearing his words made Amara's heart ache, but she couldn't just stand there in silence. She met his accusation head-on. "I really don't love you anymore."

Dropping that final blow, she couldn't stomach looking at him for another second. "I'm going inside. I need to rest, and you should go home."

Amara turned on her heel and retreated straight to her bedroom. She sat on the edge of the bed for a long time, utterly drained, lacking even the energy to wash up.

She felt intensely miserable. She still remembered every word of Finnian's post—it was no exaggeration to say she had practically memorized it.

She replayed the contents in her mind: Finnian didn't love Liliana. The only woman he truly seemed to love was her...

But even as those thoughts circled, the image of Finnian and Liliana embracing in the hospital room forcefully intruded.

She hadn't witnessed it in person, but she had seen the photos Liliana had flaunted.

She had scrutinized those pictures so obsessively that the sight of their embrace was now branded into her brain.
