She instantly yanked her hand away, hissing, "What do you think you're doing? Just because you're drunk doesn't mean you get to take advantage of people!"
She never would have said such a thing to a sober Finnian.
But this man was so plastered he wouldn't remember a single detail tomorrow anyway. Amara didn't hold back, using the opportunity to throw a few more insults his way.
She didn't plan on nagging him all night, though. After a brief scolding, she grabbed his hand again to unlock the door.
This time, Finnian didn't resist. He stood perfectly still, obediently letting Amara open the door, and she practically dragged him inside.
"You're back?"
As soon as they entered, a voice called out. Amara looked up to see Dorian walking out of the guest room, staring at the two of them in surprise.
She knew Dorian had been staying at Finnian's apartment recently. It was precisely because of this that Elysia had stopped mailing the divorce papers to Dorian's office and started sending them directly to Finnian's place.
Amara had no patience for Dorian either, but right now, she needed the muscle. Suppressing her irritation, she ordered, "Come help me."
Dorian shot a glance at the nearly unconscious Finnian, then stepped forward to take his other arm. Together, they supported him as they walked down the hall.
Finnian was 6'2", and though his years of working out made him look lean, he was pure muscle and weighed nearly 190 pounds.
Dragging a man that size was exhausting, especially since he was drunk, constantly mumbling Amara's name, and trying to lean into her, throwing his weight off balance.
By the time they finally managed to dump him onto the bed in the master bedroom, Amara was out of breath and breaking a sweat.
She stood by the bed, gripping the wardrobe for support as she panted heavily. Pulling a tissue from her bag, she wiped her forehead.
