When Helena found out Charlene wanted to file for divorce, she was completely on board.
After speaking with her grandmother, Charlene went upstairs. She was about to call her lawyer, Padgett, to discuss the filing when a message from Thorne Henderson lit up her screen.
[I'm sorry I couldn't make it back in time. That's on me.]
Charlene read it but didn't reply.
A second message followed almost immediately: [Can we hold off on filing for divorce? If you agree, I can offer you 30 billion dollars in compensation.]
Again, Charlene stared at the screen without responding.
She knew exactly why he didn't want her to file a lawsuit. If news of the divorce leaked, Vesta Hawkins's status as his mistress would be exposed. With a little deliberate public incitement, the scandal could damage not only Thorne's career but his father's political future as well.
If it came to that, she had no doubt that Irma Henderson and Claudia would come to her, pleading for the sake of the Henderson family's legacy. After all, the Hendersons had once done the Ross family a great service.
Charlene sat motionless, lost in thought.
Just then, Jasmine Henderson burst into the room and threw her arms around her. "Mommy, what are you doing?"
Snapping back to the present, Charlene shook her head. "It's getting late, sweetie. Go get ready for your bath, and then it's time for bed."
"Okay!" Jasmine chirped, happily skipping off to find her pajamas.
Watching her daughter's easy, smiling face, Charlene felt another wave of uncertainty creep in.
After Jasmine's bath, she dried her hair and watched her fall into a deep, peaceful sleep in her arms. After a long moment of contemplation, Charlene finally replied to Thorne.

Gosh, this is excruciating ! The slow pace made me leave this for over 3 months. Was just taking a peek and not much development. Btw they have now made this into a 3hr 40 min long drama.Available on daily motion under, the name, next chapter without you. But all the other fringe characters such as York Granger Gaylord are missing in the movie. Ending is very satisfying, practical and apt. She chooses to leave thorne and jasmine and be with Stewart. Vesta and family are inter national wanted Criminals. Not sure if they replicate the same on here. As this book is now on the app for more than 9 months, have a feeling it'll be another 6 to 9 months before this is completed!...

I know its ur story and u obviously have ur own plot line and all and have every right to build the story as u like but what writer provide isnt just entertainment, but they shape the narrative of young minds. So I would say that romanticing cheating is, or rather THORNE'S behaviour, wrong for all the reasons..give york a chance ..that will be way more satisfying...again all of this is just my point of view but if charlene and thorne get back together, its not the story im looking for...
