Vesta and Maureen understood Rhoda's implication without her having to say it. Leah, however, took a few seconds to grasp what she meant, which only fueled her anger.
"That's... that's impossible," she sputtered. "It has to be a coincidence."
Rhoda fell silent but glanced toward Vesta. Although they had all believed Thorne's feelings for Vesta were deep and that she could easily win him back, the reality was proving different. She knew Vesta had tried to contact Thorne recently, only to be told he was busy... Yet here he was, making time to have dinner with Charlene. The hierarchy of importance in Thorne's heart seemed painfully obvious.
Despite her anger and denial, Leah had also considered this. She grasped for another explanation, her voice rising in desperation. "He wasn't alone with that witch! Why can't it be that Jasmine wanted them to eat together? He couldn't say no to her. We all know how much he dotes on Jasmine."
That was certainly a possibility. But the fear was that the reverse was true—that Thorne was using Jasmine as an excuse to see Charlene.
Maureen and Vesta remained silent. Maureen's gaze was distant and unreadable, her thoughts hidden.

Gosh, this is excruciating ! The slow pace made me leave this for over 3 months. Was just taking a peek and not much development. Btw they have now made this into a 3hr 40 min long drama.Available on daily motion under, the name, next chapter without you. But all the other fringe characters such as York Granger Gaylord are missing in the movie. Ending is very satisfying, practical and apt. She chooses to leave thorne and jasmine and be with Stewart. Vesta and family are inter national wanted Criminals. Not sure if they replicate the same on here. As this book is now on the app for more than 9 months, have a feeling it'll be another 6 to 9 months before this is completed!...

I know its ur story and u obviously have ur own plot line and all and have every right to build the story as u like but what writer provide isnt just entertainment, but they shape the narrative of young minds. So I would say that romanticing cheating is, or rather THORNE'S behaviour, wrong for all the reasons..give york a chance ..that will be way more satisfying...again all of this is just my point of view but if charlene and thorne get back together, its not the story im looking for...
