Unknown Divorce Revelation Beyond Time (Charlene and Thorne) novel Chapter 650

As the workday was drawing to a close, Charlene's phone buzzed with a new message. This time, it was from Kenton Wagner: [Monday, 2 a.m. Be ready.]

Seeing Kenton's message didn't surprise her. After her last assignment at the base, she knew she'd be called back again soon.

After replying to Kenton, she thought about her divorce. Wanting to get it over with as quickly as possible, she sent Thorne a brief outline of her work schedule: [I have a business trip for the next few days. It should take about a week.]

When she returned, their thirty-day deliberation period would still be active. If he could get back in time, they could replace the marriage certificate and still make it to city hall to finalize the divorce.

Thorne seemed incredibly busy lately, so she expected a reply the next day at the earliest. To her surprise, a message came back almost instantly: [Okay, got it.]

He didn't mention a single word about when he might return. After that, there was silence.

At two in the morning on Monday, Charlene left for the base.

As she had anticipated, she completed most of her work within a week. However, an unexpected issue arose, forcing her to stay an extra three or four days.

By the time she returned to the city, she found several missed messages from Thorne on her phone.

The earliest one was from a week ago: [I'm back in the country.]

Since she hadn't replied, he hadn't contacted her for the next two days.

But three days ago, he sent a second message: [I have a business trip to Stonepine tomorrow.]

And the most recent one, from yesterday: [Heading to Northal tomorrow afternoon.]

He asked, "Did you know Thorne came back a week ago? He's already off working on other projects. I had dinner with him and some others a few days ago. Based on what he was saying, it sounds like he'll be flying all over the world until the new year. He's swamped!"

Charlene looked down, her voice flat. "Is that so?"

"Yeah," Stewart said with a pursed lip. "The number of projects he's juggling… honestly, I was stunned just listening to him."

Charlene didn't respond. In truth, for as long as she could remember, since she was a teenager, Thorne had always been busy. Whether he was in school or working, he spent most of the year flying around the globe. The time he spent in Starfall City was minimal.

Thinking back, the only reason he had stayed in Starfall so often this year was because of Vesta. Because Vesta had come to the city. That was why, for the first time in nearly a decade, he hadn't been constantly jetting off to some other corner of the world.

But she kept these thoughts to herself.
