Unknown Divorce Revelation Beyond Time (Charlene and Thorne) novel Chapter 738

Charlene joined in, softly urging the elderly woman, and Irma finally agreed to go home and rest.

Granger Harden and Moran Albright were still around. When Charlene had arrived earlier, one had stepped out to take a call, and the other was arranging for lunch to be delivered to the hospital.

They walked back in just in time to hear Charlene comforting Irma.

After soothing Irma, Charlene noticed Granger and Moran. Catching Granger's gaze, she simply offered him a polite nod of greeting.

Irma went to the restroom, and Minnie headed back to the ward to gather her things. Once they were alone, Thorne turned to Charlene. "Thank you for taking care of Grandma."

Charlene gave a flat, "Mhm."

Without another word, she walked into the ward to help Minnie pack up.

Moran and Granger took in the entirely mundane exchange.

A moment later, Charlene escorted Irma and Minnie toward the elevators and left the hospital.

Watching the elevator doors slide shut, Moran turned to Thorne. "She's actually really good to your grandmother."

Both Moran and Granger had been present when Thorne made the call. They knew Charlene had agreed the second Thorne asked.

Now that she had come, all her concern was focused entirely on Irma. Her complete indifference toward Thorne was obvious to everyone in the room.

Moran figured Charlene merely saw Thorne as the grandson of an elder she respected, or simply the father of her child.

Nothing more.

All in all, Charlene drew a very clear line between her grudges and her gratitude.

Granger stayed quiet, but he felt it too. The interactions between Thorne and Charlene were completely devoid of romance. It was just a flat, polite stillness.

By the time Charlene and the others arrived back at the Henderson Mansion, the butler had lunch prepared.

However, Irma had no appetite and barely touched a bite.

Helena Ross had caught wind of Lloyd's accident and rushed over as well.

Helena and Irma were around the same age and had weathered many storms together. They understood each other's fears perfectly.

With Helena there to keep her company, Irma's spirits lifted slightly, and she managed to eat a little food.
