Elara stared at him in shock, instinctively asking out of concern, "Why don't you have an umbrella?"
Sebastian nonchalantly pushed back his soaked bangs. "It wasn't far."
Elara was speechless. "No matter how close it is, you can't joke around with your health!"
As she spoke, she dug into her bag, pulled out a pack of tissues, and handed them to him. "Quick, dry off."
Sebastian took them with a smile, pulling out a tissue to wipe his face and hair.
He tried to hand the rest back to her, but Elara didn't take them. "Wipe your coat too."
Sebastian pulled out another tissue and dabbed at his clothes.
He could only reach the front, so he ignored his back entirely.
The mall had heating, so it wasn't exactly freezing inside, but since he had just sprinted through the cold rain, taking his coat off right away would expose him to a sudden temperature shift—a prime recipe for a cold. It just wasn't practical for him to take it off to dry the back.
Elara considerately didn't say a word. Instead, she pulled a tissue out herself, stepped behind him, and personally wiped the raindrops off the back of his coat.
"Shouldn't you be on your lunch break? What brings you to the mall?"
Sebastian, of course, was not going to admit that he had spotted her here while driving to a business lunch and had practically jumped out of the car.
With a perfectly straight face, he said, "I didn't know what to eat, so I came to walk around the area."
"..."
As if just remembering, Sebastian asked her, "Have you had lunch yet?"
Elara answered honestly, "Not yet. I'm in line at The Crimson Spice next door, but there are dozens of people ahead of me, so I came over here to kill some time."
Sebastian seized on her words, brimming with curiosity. "That many people waiting? It must be amazing, right?"
Elara smiled and nodded. "Yeah. I used to eat there all the time when I was working. A few years have passed, and their business has only gotten better. The line just gets longer."
Seeing his genuine curiosity, and realizing he hadn't decided what to eat yet, Elara ventured an invitation. "Do you want to try it?"
Sebastian didn't agree immediately. He asked hesitantly, "Is that okay?"
