After taking their seats, Ava looked at the steady stream of people and said, “Looks like this play is pretty popular-there are so many audience members.”
Ethan was still holding her hand and had not let go.
Ava glanced around before withdrawing her gaze. She tugged at her hand, but Ethan held on tightly.
He looked at her with a gentle gaze, yet his actions were incredibly domineering. “I haven’t seen you for a month. Only at times like this, holding your hand, do I feel like you are by my side.”
Ava truly did not expect Ethan to show such a contrasting side. This seemed more like something the childish Ryan would do.
To her, Ethan had always been a very proper person.
Ethan lifted her hand, pressed his cheek against her wrist, and rubbed against it in an almost clingy manner. “I’ve missed you, Ava.”
Ava found it incredibly cheesy. Her heart pounded wildly, and being in such a public place made her feel intensely embarrassed, her face instantly turning red. “Don’t do that.”
“Do what?” Ethan asked while still holding her hand, pressing further.
Ava opened her mouth, looked around again, and reminded him, “Be mindful of appearances.”
Seeing her flushed face, Ethan merely tightened his grip on her hand. “Alright, I understand.”
Ava felt extremely uncomfortable. This version of Ethan was unfamiliar to her. She was still in a daze, and she truly could not imagine he had such a side.
The entire drama performance lasted over two hours, and Ava was not very immersed while watching. She could not deny it was a high-quality performance, and the actors were excellent.
But Ethan beside her was like a volcano lying dormant. He held her hand the entire time, and he’d occasionally interlace their fingers. Other than that, he’d gently stroke and graze the back of her hand.
Ava glanced at him several times during the performance, but his expression remained calm, his eyes fixed on the stage.
Only when she looked over did he look back at her.
After more than two hours passed and the actors finished their curtain call, Ava remained seated, waiting for the crowd in front to leave first.
Once most of the people had left, Ava coughed lightly and said in a low voice, “I need to go to the bathroom”
Ethan released her hand. “Alright”

Relieved from the pressure on her bladder, Ava washed her hands and looked at herself in the mirror, lightly patting her cheeks before walking out.
Ethan was waiting outside. He was tall and handsome, attracting quite the attention.
Ava walked up to Ethan and looped her arm through his. “Let’s go,”
Ethan asked. “Do you want to have dinner now, or later?”
It was nearly 6.30 p.m., and Ava thought for a moment before saying, “How about we eat first? After dinner, I want to go to the riverside to see the night view, then I’ll head back to the Morren Residence.”
The two of them found a restaurant near the river. By then, the city outside was already lit up with glowing lights. Ava sat in her chair, looking through the window at the night scenery. “I bet this place has lovely night views.”
Ethan picked up the menu and handed it to Ava. “The night view here is great. During winter, it looks amazing when it snows.”
Ava took the menu and began flipping through it. Hearing him mention snow, she responded, “Let’s come back when it snows.”
Ethan looked at Ava tenderly. “However, nothing beats the snowy views on Pluto. If it’s up your alley, the Chapel of Lemone on Capitol Planet is worth a visit.”
“The Chapel of Lemone? That sounds a bit familiar,” Ava said as she handed the menu back to Ethan.
Ethan ordered a few dishes and continued, “The Chapel of Lemone is a great place for scenery all year round-flowers in spring, cool retreats in summer, red maple forests covering the mountains in autumn, and heavy snow in winter with a ski resort on the mountain. It attracts many visitors, and it has a pleasant fragrance everywhere.”
Ava was interested. “If I get the chance, I’d like to visit.”
While they were eating, Ryan’s video call came through.
Ava looked at her Holoband but did not answer. Instead, she raised her eyes to look at Ethan.
Ethan looked at her and said, “Ryan’s calling. Aren’t you going to answer?”
“Do you want me to answer it now?” Ava asked.
Ethan reached out and declined the call, withdrew his hand, and looked at Ava seriously. “Ava, I’m not as magnanimous as you think I am.”
Ava did not expect Ethan to be so direct. He even hung up on Ryan!
Ava suddenly felt that her understanding of Ethan was too superficial. This man was far from as harmless as he appeared.
