Chapter 265 Arriving Late to Class
“Are you planning to renovate the house?”
“Yeah. Didn’t we agree on it last time? I was going to prepare a room for you.”

Ava frowned slightly. “There’s no need. I thought it over–it’s too much trouble, and not really necessary to redo everything just for
me.”
“Where will you stay when you spend the night at my place, then? I’d be more than willing to share my room with you, but would you be okay with that?”
Looking straight into his eyes, Ava said seriously, “This year, I’ll be spending most of my time at school. I only visit the Morren Residence occasionally. Mason, before I turn twenty–six, I’ll complete the final marriage formalities with you.”
Mason’s eyes lit up. “You mean we’ll be an actual, married couple?”
His bluntness caught her off guard. “Why are you so direct when you talk?”
“I’m just being honest! Since you’ve said that, we’ll hold off on the renovation for now. After we’re married, we can make other arrangements–maybe even move to a new place.”
Ava was speechless. Gosh, he’s really getting ahead of himself.
On Monday morning, Ava woke up late and practically sprinted all the way to class.
When Gabriel spotted her, he immediately waved. “Over here, Avá! I saved you a seat!”
The large lecture hall was already packed.
Ava glanced around but didn’t see Zoey or Noelle.
“Over here, Ava!” Gabriel shouted again.
The once noisy classroom instantly fell quiet, and everyone turned to look at Ava.
She felt a bit embarrassed. Looking at Gabriel and his booming voice, she almost wanted to pretend she didn’t know him.
The students sitting around him–all her classmates–also called out, “Hurry over, Ava! Gabriel has already saved you a seat!”
With her shoulder bag slung over one side and a book in hand, Ava lifted the book to lightly cover her forehead, walking over in a half self–deceiving attempt to hide herself.
“Tsk, there are still so many empty seats. It’s not like the campus beauty has to sit with her classmates.”
“D“mn, what’s with the botany group? A bunch of big, rough guys, yet such a demure girl ends up in their class!”
“Gabriel’s their vice class rep, right? Gosh, he’s irritable. It’s making my fists itch!”

Ava pretended not to hear the immature chatter. After sitting down, she took out her book and waited for class to begin.
The seat Gabriel saved for her was near the middle, by the window–overlooking greenery outside, with a wide view and great lighting.
Soft sunlight fell over her, casting a warm glow, enveloping her in a gentle halo that made her stand out even more.
Someone secretly snapped a photo and posted it on the school forum with the caption, “Another day of sharing a class with the campus beauty. She’s stunning!”
About ten minutes into the lecture, Noelle and Zoey finally arrived late.
They stood awkwardly at the classroom door. The lecturer initially looked displeased, but upon seeing it was two girls, his expression softened. “Come in quickly, find your seats, and pay attention. You can catch up on what you missed by copying notes from your classmates later.”
Noelle hurried in, scanning the room for Ava. Not spotting her, she withdrew her gaze and found a seat for herself.
After what felt like forever, the class finally ended. Noelle immediately went to look for Ava.
