A teasing grin crossed her face. “Looks like we are alike-many girls sign up for his elective just because of him.”

Ava asked her, “Are you worried about failing if you take a class that isn’t in your major?”

Joselyn looked completely unbothered. “If I fail, I fail. At Starry Heavens University, not passing a few classes is almost regarded as shameful. Plus, Professor Holcomb is extremely handsome. Having the chance to get close to someone like him is a rare opportunity.”

Her tone remained confident. “It’s just an elective, not a major class. The exams should be straightforward. Memorize the key points, and that will be sufficient.”

Ava looked at Joselyn for a moment. If she had not studied this subject before, she might actually have believed that speech.

Even as an elective, this class was far too specialized. It was nowhere near an easy-credit course, and earning the credit definitely would not be simple.

At the podium, Keith immediately noticed Ava talking to the girl beside her. His voice rang out coolly. “Settle down. Class starts now.”

Ava straightened up at once. Joselyn kept staring at Keith at the front, her face full of open excitement.

“So, many students actually enrolled in this elective?” Keith glanced around the room before picking up the attendance sheet beside him and quickly reviewing it. “Hmm. A lot of you are from different majors, too.”

A girl suddenly called out, “Professor Holcomb, it’s because you’re handsome. We chose your class because we wanted to see you.”

Ava glanced at her, and Joselyn responded with a wink.

“Alright, attendance,” Keith spoke casually, gesturing to a boy. “You. Take it.”

The boy looked completely caught off guard by being chosen. He quickly got to his feet, took the attendance sheet, and started calling names, his clear voice carrying a trace of excitement he could not hide.

Keith stepped down from the podium and approached Joselyn’s desk, tapping it lightly. “No talking during class. You’re distracting your deskmate.”

Joselyn stared up at him in disbelief. She had only whispered a few words, yet with so many people in the room, she was still singled out.

Her face flushing red, she responded softly, “O-Okay, Professor Holcomb.”

Keith glanced at Ava.

Ava straightened her posture instantly and avoided glancing at him again.

Keith kept walking, completing a circuit around the classroom, then returned to Ava’s side and paused.

Ava immediately felt as if a mountain had settled next to her. Why is he standing here? Feeling unable to resist, she glanced up at him.

Keith lowered his eyes to meet hers.

At that moment, the attendance taker called her name, and Ava responded promptly, “Here.”

Her nervousness was obvious to anyone watching. Only then did Keith move on, walking past her and heading back to the podium.

Once attendance was finished, Keith looked at the class. “Miss three classes, and you lose the credit. Now let’s begin.”
