Naomi grinned, looking quietly amused. Zoey swatted the back of Ava’s hand. “What’s gotten into you today? Did some drama queen take over your body?”
Ava laughed. “Only if you two cooperate can I keep this performance going.”
Zoey immediately reacted, raising a hand to her forehead with a sorrowful look. “My lord, you haven’t visited me in ages. I was starting to believe that the shameless little seductress next door had taken your heart.”
Naomi shivered dramatically. “Zoey, you picked the wrong department. You should’ve gone into directing. With this level of acting, you might actually make it big in entertainment someday.”
Zoey broke into laughter, then turned to Ava. “Why didn’t you wear anything fancy?”
Ava glanced down at herself. “I had a major class this afternoon. When was I supposed to find time to get all dressed up? This is enough. I came to watch the concert, not to be part of the show.”
Naomi grinned. “Ava would still look stunning even if she wore a sack. A beauty is still a beauty no matter what.”
Ava looked at the two of them and smiled helplessly. “Alright, that’s enough. Stop flattering each other. Let’s go. We’re running out of time, and I don’t want to arrive late.”
The girls switched lines twice on the Astralis Line before finally arriving at the venue.
As they emerged from the station a few minutes later, Ava paused in surprise at the sight of the crowd. “There are this many people?”
Zoey hooked an arm through hers and stared at the massive K.M.N billboard ahead with shining eyes. “This is nothing. The Capitol Stadium only holds so many people, so today’s crowd isn’t even that crazy. Wait until they hold a concert on Seraphim Star. That’s when things get truly insane.”
While speaking, Zoey quickly pulled a fan banner out of her bag. Naomi also took out her own fan banner and a handmade LED sign. Then both of them turned to Ava.
Seeing her empty-handed, Zoey blinked. “Ava, don’t tell me you didn’t even bring a fan banner.”
Ava looked around and noticed that almost everyone was carrying some kind of fan merch.

Feeling a little awkward, she admitted, “No. I didn’t bring anything.”

She was just here to watch the concert, not as a dedicated fan. How was she supposed to know she needed all this stuff?
Zoey looked at her for two seconds, then burst out laughing behind her hand. “You are such a fake fan.”
Naomi smiled, searched her bag, and handed Ava a glow stick along with a glowing headband. Ava accepted them with a smile. “Thanks.”
Naomi waved it off. “It’s okay. Not bringing anything doesn’t matter. It’s just a concert. As long as you can hear the music, that’s all that counts.”
The three of them joined the line and waited for ticket inspection.
Once inside, they split up, and each went to find her own seat.
Ava checked the seat number on her ticket and made her way toward the VIP section.
Once she had settled in, she quickly noticed the girl next to her. The girl wore a striking, fashionable outfit. As soon as Ava sat down, her eyes lit up, and she leaned forward excitedly. “Girl, did you come alone?”
Ava shook her head. “No. I came with friends, but we’re seated in separate sections.”
The girl laughed brightly. “Then whose fan are you?”
Ava met her gaze without answering right away. “What about you?”
“Me?” The girl looked completely confident. “Of course, I’m here for Bennie. Who else? What about you?”
Ava looked toward the center of the stage. From her seat, it was surprisingly close.
Then she answered, “Ryan.”
The girl’s expression shifted instantly. “You’re really a Ryan fan? Wow, respect.”
She even nodded at Ava with a thumbs-up. “I used to like him, but that guy’s attitude is too harsh. He’s definitely talented, maybe incredibly talented, but when compared to the other two, he clearly doesn’t know how to treat fans kindly.”
Ava listened quietly and did not comment.

The girl studied her again, then added with a grin, “If you ever want to switch loyalties, my guy is always welcoming.”
Ava only smiled in response.
As she looked around, she saw that the place was entirely packed. The arena’s noise thundered like a storm, and the VIP area seemed oddly isolated from the rest of the venue, almost as if it were part of a different world.
