Zoey: Ava, don’t forget. I want a ton of pictures.
Naomi: I’m seriously jealous of your VIP seat. You get to see everything up close.
Ava snapped a few photos first before looking back toward the stage.

Only then did she finally catch sight of Ryan’s face through the shifting lights and layered shadows.
The arena was packed wall to wall, yet her gaze found him almost immediately.
At nearly the same moment, his eyes found hers too.
Ava did not look away.
She tightened her grip on the glow stick in her hand and watched as he stepped forward out of the hazy wash of light.
His voice seemed to drift right to her ear.
As Ava followed his movements with her eyes, she watched him come closer and closer to thei side of the stage until, in the end, only a railing stood between them.
The VIP section instantly stirred.
The girl beside her flushed red and muttered under her breath, “D*mn! What’s wrong with him tonight?”
Ryan remained inconspicuous, neither waving nor halting the song. He simply stood there, singing softly and directly at her with a gentle voice.
Warmth rose slowly into Ava’s face, but she still held his gaze.
For one dizzy moment, it felt as though the two of them were openly flirting in front of
everyone.
The cameras swept across the audience.
A second later, Ava’s face appeared on the giant screen above the venue.
Then it vanished just as quickly.

As the concert drew to a close, Ava sent the photos she had taken of the other two members into the group chat.
Malory swiftly filled the chat with thank-you stickers and mentioned that she would take Ava to lunch the next day.
Right then, a burst of movement nearby caught Ava’s attention.
She turned and saw a man dressed like concert staff walk up to a woman a few seats away.
His manner was extremely respectful. “Ms. Garner, please come with me backstage.”
The woman, Ms. Garner, lifted her chin proudly, rose from her seat, and followed him out with exaggerated grace.
The girl sitting beside Ava clicked her tongue. “What a joke.”
Ava turned to her. “What do you mean?”
The girl softly explained, “She was pretending earlier to be one of the guys’ girlfriends. She spends some money, hires staff, and stages a scene as if she’s being invited backstage. It’s all just to get attention.”
Ava blinked, surprised. “People actually do that?”
The girl smirked with obvious disdain. “Same old style. There’s always at least one at each concert. Every time, it’s a different so-called girlfriend. They invent their own stories, post them online, and hope people buy into them. We’re all tired of it now.”
Ava checked the time.
A few minutes later, she rose from her seat.
The girl beside her looked up. “You’re leaving early?”
Ava gave a calm excuse. “I need to go to the toilet.”
The girl gave her a sympathetic look and waved her away. “When you get back, it will probably be over.”
Ava only smiled and did not explain.
At the spot she had arranged in advance with Soren, Ryan’s assistant was already waiting.
The moment Ava arrived, the assistant quickly led her away.

Not long after, the concert ended.
Ryan was the first to leave.
A short while later, the car door opened.

Ava was already inside, texting Zoey and Naomi to inform them she had left early and they didn’t need to wait for her.
Upon hearing the sound, she looked toward the door and then tapped her Holoband to switch it off.
Ryan got into the car and took the seat beside her.
The second he looked at her, the intensity in his eyes was unmistakable. “Ava, thanks for coming to my concert tonight. I’m truly happy to see you.”
Ava looked at him. “You left before everything was fully over?”
Ryan gave a gentle hum as he reached over to fasten her seat belt. “It’s basically finished. The rest is already taken care of.”
Ava looked at the styling gel that kept his hair in place. “Is that okay? You left early. What will people say about you in the news tomorrow?”
Ryan seemed entirely unconcerned. “Let them write whatever they want.” Then he looked at her and added, “Let’s go eat first, okay?”
Ava nodded.
The car brought them to a highly private restaurant.
